Proposed title for my project: beautybyblessie

connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that

My inquiry question is:

Why did i start doing Eyelashes for my business?

Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are
choosing to investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect
to your passion(s), purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?

I chose this topic as a major area of focus because I am really interested in business! I’m quite
creative, i have talents that may fit in business. I like to be my own boss, I would also love to
teach other people who would be interested in getting into some sort of business that ties up
with beauty industry. Being in business would help me make my own money as an
independent young woman without depending on parents. They’ve given me enough already,
so it is now my turn to give them what thye deserve.

Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this

area of inquiry?

My family are into business, my mother, step dad and my biological dad. I look up to them, i
didn’t know what i wanted to do until my mom pushed me out of my comfort zone, that is how i
got interested into business. We both started training for eyebrow tattoing (Nano, Ombre) for
two months starting mid of August. We have a

connections does this inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?

Why did i start doing eyelashes? My parents spent so much money in order for me to get
started in beauty industry, this question makes me think alot because there are other mini
business i can do instead of beauty. I chose beauty because eyelashes are so popular
nowadays, there are more and more women/girls are interested in make up, wanting to feel
more beautiful. I'd be very happy and proud to help them.

I am going present my project by creating a powerpoint. There will be an introduction of what
eyelashes extensions are and what is an eyelashes technician. I will explain why and how i got
interested in being a lash technician, what changed me mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I will insert pictures and videos of the eyelashes i worked on peoples eyes. I’ll include where i went
training for, how much time and money i put in, how many days it took me to become technician and
when i started. Also going to include my experience with other beauty experiences, and my goals in the
future.

Description of my Capstone project. Specific Project Details of the Capstone Project: what
will you research, create, study, produce, solve, investigate? What product will be produced
at the end of this project for evaluation. Write a one-page description outlining your
proposal.

For my research i will be searching where to find materials/supplies for instance, lashes glue,
a beauty bed, tweezers, gel pads, adhesive remover and many more. I will study more about
the types of lashes extensions, preperation and disinfections, tecqniues, allergies and
irritation, pros and cons. I have already created my social media platform that includes my
location, my availability, my personal email adress, my name on instagram is beautybyblessie.
I’m also quite active in my account.
I am still building and trying to increase the number of followers i have. Posting anything in
stories can help me get their attention, so they can be interested and might change their
minds to try lashes extentions and for people who have never gotten them before. I know a lot
of people in my grade who are interested, i can also ask them to mention me to their friends
and family if theyd like to.
I will practice 3 times a week for 2-4 hours, i will keep practicing until i find confidence, where i
can be organize with my area, my time and other things. I can keep in touch with other lashes
technicians who has experience for over two years.Since i am still living under my parents
house, my business can help me save money in order for me to get my own place where i can
settle with all my supplies and materials, and so my parents can have their own privacy.
An apartment might be too expensive for me, renting a basement might be slightlet better
option for next year. When it comes to saving money, taxes, moeny management, working
with people, i will ask my parents on how to save, what to buy and what not to buy, trusting
people/working with a partner.

 That can help me in many ways not just in business but also in relationships with my
community. In the future i would love to help other people who are interested in getting into
beauty business, teach them, train them etc. This can lead me into other business opportunity
for me, business is a lot of investing, money, myself, time, other things. I wont be alone, this
business is not only just for me, i am creating/biulding this with my mother, who has
experience in business in the Philippines.
Starting 2nd semester i want to have a place where i can be in control of all my things and my
area (basement suit) with the help of my parents. I also have a plan of doing home services,
where i can go to my client’s place with their permission and do their treatment there.That will
be my temporary area, until i am ready to have my own apartment witout the help of my
parents. I am very excited for this project, i am motivated and ready to be an independent
person. I will be the first and youngest in my entire family to start a business on my own. This
can motivate my cousins/other family members, if i can do it they can do it.

skills you will need to be able to complete this project. What is your plan to be able to
access/learn all of the resources necessary to achieve completion of this project? Detail
your plans.

I must need my phone a good quality for pictures and videos. I can copy and paste the link,
that will lead to my instagram posts. It would show whole bunch of eyelashes photos/videos.

you need to help you complete your capstone project? How will your mentor(s) help you?
What is your plan to access the mentorship/community connections necessary for this
project?

I need people who are willing to be my model practice in order for me to get better and have confidence
within myself so i can be able to accept clients and make them happy with the result of their lashes.
Practicing will take me weeks to master, i would have to message/keep in touch with my trainer ask her
questions and guide me so i can be successful in my business.

Personal awareness & responsibility

I can take good care of myself; I don’t force myself to be in a position where I can’t handle a situation. I
am responsible for my actions towards what I say to others. I can set goals and I seek help when I'm in
need. I take my time and put effort into my work. I know what I'm capable of doing and what I'm not
capable of doing. When I am having a bad day, I do not go to others and make their day horrible, I tend
to stay away from people and give myself time and thinking.

Time management and being organized are my weaknesses, I tend to not focus on my priorities first, I
can be lazy. In my mind I think that I have time to finish a task but at the end of the day my body and
mind are tired, and I skip the important task and do it the next day.

Social responsibility

Little things can become a big thing. I love to help the community, helping them with little things. I am
aware of my right and wrongs. Especially on social media, I stand up and speak up for the people that are
getting bullied or made fun of. I don’t usually take sides, but it depends on the situation. I listen,
understand, both sides and then I speak up of what is right and wrong.

I tend to get aggressive and harsh when I find something very obnoxious and bad. Because I know what
others that did is bad, and I become mean towards them.

Critical thinking

I can come up with good questions. I'm not quite fast enough to quickly solve the problem, I take my
time to think, ask more questions to solve a problem. Sometimes I'm fast to solve a problem, I can find
ways, do a lot of thinking, testing the things that would work and what wouldn’t work. I work well with
others, better than doing everything myself. To create more ideas and solve problems.

Creative thinking

I can come up with unique ideas and I can share my ideas with others that people may find interesting. I
am artistic, I love to paint and I'm quick to come up with a unique idea to paint and most of the time the
result will come out as what I expected it to be. I'm quite curious and ask unexplainable questions. I'm
great with arts, I can create unique things.

It takes a bit of time for me to generate new ideas, I would research and look for examples and other
ideas for me to come up with new ideas.

Communication

I can keep a conversation going even when I just met the people. I interact with a lot of people, and I
understand them whenever they feel awkward or uncomfortable. I can break the ice and continue the
conversation. I ask people questions and talk about almost everything about the world or space.

I am a great listener; my attention goes towards the people I talk to. I'm quite loud and fun to be with. I
do enjoy being with people, eating out, travelling from place to place.

Although I am fun and outgoing but most of the time, I'm shy, I start to over think about what to talk
about. I sometimes have a hard time explaining things, especially when I speak 3 languages.

Personal & Cultural identity

I value the things that are important to me, I understand my culture, and talk about my culture. I believe
that people that I have in common work better for me when it comes to having a relationship with
them, because I like to relate to them and understand them. I am an open person; it is great to have
different kinds of friends, different ethnicities, age, sex etc. My culture is unique and so are everyone
else's. I know how to bring myself when I'm learning about other people’s life and beliefs and more. It is
good to be surrounded with people that are a good influence because they can help you with getting to
know yourself more and being a great person in general.

I'm quite picky about choosing friends, depending on their personality and culture. I don’t always get
along with everyone, because of what they believe in and what I believe in. It is difficult to be around
with people that has different mindset and understanding as I do.
