 I. THE ENTERPRISE

One of the most distinguishable spots on the province of Sultan Kudarat

is their Moro-inspired provincial capitol building. It houses the provincial

government offices including the office of the provincial governor and Vice

governor and the session hall for the provincial board members.

Sultan Kudarat Governor Datu Pax Mangudadato wants the newly-

completed structure as the main tourist destination of the province. This will

be the symbols of long-time dream to transform the province into one the

major economic.

Sultan Kudarat Provincial Capitol Building located in the southwest of

the island of Mindanao. The whitewashed capitol building was built in a

sprawling complex and features a big golden dome at the center with Moro

architecture and a giant statue of Sultan Kudarat in its grounds.

The four-storey building, which virtually glitters with its gold-painted

dome, stands on a 9.2-hectare land carved out of an oil palm plantation of

Kenram Philippines Inc.

Engr. Romeo Zaragoza, provincial planning and development office,

said that the local governments spent at least P380 Million for the construction

of the building and for its furniture and utilities.

Sultan Kudarat also has the largest grains-processing complex in the

country and boasts of more than 200 rice mills in the area.

Mandate:

The office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, as a legislative body of the

province, shall enact ordinances, approve resolutions and appropriate funds

for the general welfare of the province and its residents.

Vision:

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan envisions in enhancing the People’s dignity of

life and promoting it general welfare through the enactment of the Quality

Legislations with fairness, competence, efficiency, and integrity.

Mission:

- To provide the people with adequate assistance and support.

- To promote the People’s General Welfare.

- To ensure efficient and effective delivery of basic services and facilities

Service Pledge:

With the aid of our Divine Providence and In accord with our Vision and

Mission Statement, we, the employees of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, do

hereby commit to resolutely fulfill our promises to ensure that our frontline

services meet the universal standards that includes services and support to

the enactment of Gender-Responsive Legislations, carry out our work

throughout completion and we will strive to improve our services to meet our

clients satisfaction.

It's not a major issue; we simply addressed it by informing authorized

personnel that, as an intern in the vice-office governor's or in any office with

an intern student, the intern should not receive any papers that have been

signed by those assigned signatories; one of the reasons they don't want to

give to an intern is that it could lead to the papers being misrepresented. The

papers could not be misplaced or worse, lost by the interned. The suggestion

is that they should not allow the intern to collect papers from various offices,

especially if the paper is critical. It is simply a matter of self-discipline for the

personnel.

IV. SUCCESS AND FAILURES FACTORS

Be transparent with the staffs and offer a clear and effective

communication to help them feel involved in the change process. Clearly

demonstrate the positive outcomes of this transition and try to relate it to

something they truly care about.

V. NEW THINGS/TECHNOLOGIES LEARNED BY MYSELF

Working in the Vice Governor's office has taught me that serving people is

difficult, and working with others is much more difficult. Everyone's customs,

culture, and perceptions must be taken into account. Accepting what has

been done while also taking immediate action to accomplish tasks is a

requirement of public service.

As a student of information systems, I feel that technology makes people's

jobs easier, especially when it comes to document processing. However, as

an IS, I discovered that offering people ideas and contributions is far more

beneficial to them. Being practical, intelligent, and still having a mindset that is

focused on the company's goals is far more capable than our current

technology. Technology cannot cure all problems; it has limitations in dealing

with many issues that arise in the workplace.

Technology may be beneficial in some situations, but we should not rely

our work on the technology we have; rather, we should work hard, hands-on,

and do our best with or without it. A motivated and hardworking individual is

far more adept and knowledgeable in several fields of competence. They are

nothing until individuals initiate our technology.

VI. MY ROLE OR CONTRIBUTION IN THE ENTERPRISE

My contribution to the vice governor's office as an information system

student is serving and aiding clients with their needs. Especially to those who

were in desperate need of medical and funeral aid. Processing their

documents and directing people to the appropriate offices.

Since I've been in the Vice Governor's Office, I've realized that I need to

be impartial in many situations and that I need to comprehend people's

situations. Serving people is difficult, even if there is no compensation for the

efforts.

As a student leader for the past few years, I believe I have gained the

knowledge and ability to organize paper work, which has proven to be quite

beneficial in the field of public service. I can say that my visit to the vice

governor's office was enjoyable, and I gained knowledge that would be useful

in the future.

Working with professionals has taught me that we should not be overly

enthusiastic about our work as long as we do not do harm to others. What

we've started must be continued.

A RESULT OF THE OJT.

SUMMARY

We've processed the papers needed on their T.O. since we've completed

240 hours of On-the-Job Training. Payroll, Listing, Bookkeeping, submitting

paperwork to offices, meeting people in higher positions in the government,

diverse mindsets, and an environment where it is a pleasure to meet people

who are doing their best to make the province a successful, quiet, and

pleasant place are all things we enjoy.

CONCLUSION

As a Sultan Kudarat State University – Isulan Campus graduate student

pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems, we will use this On-

the-Job training to apply what we have learned over the past few years. It

serves as a preparation ground for us to take the first steps toward becoming

professionals at some point in the future. As we progress through our

specializations. We, must decide what we will be in particular in the near

future.

FUTURE PLANS OF STUDENTS

I believe that working as a public servant or in government offices provides

you with the information that you require, particularly when it comes to

understanding government rules and regulations. Serving in the government

is highly encouraged. Yes, having an Information Systems graduate not only

in the subject of governance but also in the world is extremely beneficial to the

government. We don't know how or what we can do to help our environment

system in the near future.
