SETUP CAMERA

- Open IV-Navigator Program double-clicking icon on desktop

- Choose direct connection (if you have only one camera select “1 unit” option, if you have more
than one camera select “2 units or more” option). Select the ethernet port connecting the camera.
- Select the camera you want to set from the list

- Press “Program” soft-key

- Select sensor setup

- From the first page “Image Optimization”, pressing “Trigger options” you can select an external
trigger (from the PLC) or an internal trigger (every X seconds). Normally we use an internal trigger
for the camera checking vial flow on loading turn-table and external trigger for all other types of
cameras.
- If you press “Brightness adjustment” button you can automatically set the correct brightness of the
camera
- If you press “Focus adjustment” button you can automatically set the correct focus of the camera.
- Pressing “Extended functions” > “Imaging area” button you can select the area of the photo taken
by camera (it is possible to take an entire picture or a selected part of it).
- Pressing “Extended functions” > “Color filters” button you can add one color filter to the camera
(we recommend to choose the blue color filter with transparent vials).
- From the second page “Save Master”, you can take the master image. This image is important
because every time the camera receives the trigger the camera automatically compares the actual
situation with this image. In case of light change you should take the master image again. You
should press one trigger on and take live master image
- From the third page “Tool Settings”, you can select the type of control you want on the camera.
There are two types of control: the first one is the “Outline” (that is the shape of the vial) and the
second one is the “ColorArea”
- If you select “ColorArea” you should select one color in one area. Every time the camera will
compare this color with the current situation. If the color is the same you have a good signal,
otherwise you have a bad signal. You can select the type of area (rectangle, circle, entire), the color
and the limit adjustment (if the value of current situation is bigger than the preset value, you have a
good signal, otherwise you have a bad signal)

- At the end of these adjustments press “OK” button and save the settings you have carried out.
- If you select “Outline” control you should select the shape where you want to compare every time
the vials. If the shape is the same, you have a good signal, if the shape is different you have a bad
signal. You can select the area of the control (rectangle, circle, entire, partial), the sensitivity of the
control and the limit adjustment (if the value of current situation is bigger than the preset value,
you have a good signal, otherwise you have a bad signal)

- At the end of these adjustments press “OK” button and save the settings you have carried out.
- In the last page “Output Assignment” you can decide how to use the 8 outputs of the camera.
Generally, we proceed as follwing: “OUT1” for photo good or not, “OUT2” for camera busy, “OUT3”
for camera in fault/error and other outputs off.
- When you finish you should press “Complete” button saving all the settings.

- Then, press again “RUN” button to enable the camera and at this you can start the machine.
COPY / EDIT CAMERA RECIPE

- Press the “Detail” button to open the recipe page of the camera
- From this page you can see all the master images of all recipes pre-loaded into the machine;
select an image in the list and press “Copy” button: a pop-up appears asking you where you want to
copy it;
select the recipe for which you want to use this photo as a master (this in case you have more than
one recipe for vial type).
