INTRODUCTION
Based on the powerful and highly secure Microsoft Office SharePoint Server platform, elearning's Learning Management System gives customers an opportunity for effective learning and quick assessments. MS SharePoint-based LMS has been successfully deployed both in business corporations and educational institutions. This proposed e-learning project presumes a school or institution is implementing Microsoft SharePoint collaboration and a web publishing tool. Elementary and secondary teachers alike will learn how to create a teacher website that includes a document manager, calendar, picture library, discussion boards, and announcements amongst other things. Majority of the teachers in schools and institutions have never heard the term SharePoint nor do they know what it is or does. Training teachers on how to utilize SharePoint will allow teachers to acquire another technology skill and empower them to grow professionally. This system will not only benefit these teachers, but students and parents alike. Currently, thereisnt a set standard on a web content management system. Teachers are using a mixture of free online web content management tools which creates a problem for the instructional technology department. They have no control over these free systems which, makes it difficult to manage. It is essential to successfully implement Microsoft SharePoint in institutions, as teachers need to get familiarized with the new program as quickly as possible or else they will never use the program to its full potential. This e-learning proposal will support the proper implementation of an e-learning platform, with the intention of creating some form of partnership with your learning institution.

WHY A SHAREPOINT-BASED LMS?

Yes, you may know that you need an LMS, but why should you choose an LMS based on SharePoint? Its simple. The core requirements you need of an LMS are the very strengths of SharePoint. First, SharePoint allows the LMS to integrate with your other IT and Business Systems; and, it provides architecture for maximum expandability, customization and scalability. Second, SharePoint is recognized for its strength in work-flows and document management and these are the very foundational requirements for any LMS. Finally, SharePoint provides your users a rich, comfortable, and familiar user environment that is accessible anytime, anywhere as long as the user can reach the web. We are very pleased to announce that E-learning Hub is compatible with both SharePoint 2007 and 2010.Leverage the investment you have already made in SharePoint, and accelerate your time to results. You may be asking yourself, I thought Microsoft had released the SharePoint Learning Kit (SLK) to the market as an LMS? This is a common misconception. While Microsofts SLK is an excellent example of how SharePoint can be used in the Education Process for Corporate and Academic environments, it was never designed to be a full-featured LMS. If you want a real LMS that is ready out of the box, there is no better choice than E-learning Hub.

Foundational to e-Learning is ACCESS to the LMS. Supporting multiple browsers and operating systems is no longer a luxury, it is a requirement.
