EditionGuard Magento Demo Reference Guide
On our Magento Demo website, the EditionGuard eBook DRM Integration Extension is
already installed and configured with a demo account. Here is the link for the extension:

A. General

● SKU ( Stock Keeping Unit - you can use the eBook ISBN )

● Visibility -> Catalog, Search

● Tax Class -> None
C. Images ( Optional )
Press “Browse Files...” button and select your eBook cover image, than press “Upload Files”.
Once you’ve uploaded your cover image, select radio boxes as in the following image:
● Base Image
● Small Image
● Thumbnail
D. Inventory
First, uncheck “Use Config Settings” under “Manage Stock” , than set “Manage Stock” to
“No”. (Since eBooks are digital products, we don’t have physical stock)
● Manage Stock -> No
“Maximum Qty Allowed in Shopping Cart” -> uncheck “Use Config Settings” then set to “1”
● Maximum Qty Allowed in Shopping Cart -> 1
E. Categories
Add your eBook to Default Category and the eBooks category by checking the boxes next to
them.
F. Downloadable Information
We are going to upload the eBook with EditionGuard DRM option. You can leave the
“Samples” tab empty, it is not necessary for a demo. In a real scenario, you can use this to
upload an eBook sample, for example the first 20 pages of the eBook.
● Title -> Placing both the eBook title and the eBook format recommended ( Ex: eBook
Title - ePub (Adobe DRM) )
● Price -> leave empty we have set it before
● Max Downloads -> 10 ( for demo issue )
● Shareable -> Use Config
● EditionGuard -> Yes ( applying EditionGuard DRM on eBook )
● Sample -> leave empty ( for demo issue )
● File -> click the button and select ePub or PDF formatted eBook file
● Sort Order -> leave empty ( for demo issue )
Now our eBook is ready to be sold with EditionGuard DRM. It has already been entered into
product catalog and listed on the Magento frontend.
In this second part of our guide, we’ll be looking at how things work on the End User side.
First, we will need Adobe Digital Editions and an AdobeID to download and read an
EditionGuard DRM protected eBook. You can Download Adobe Digital Editions from the
following link and create an AdobeID all for free, in case you don’t have them already.

Find the order you just placed with the “Pending” status. Then click on the order row.
Once you get the “Order View” click the “Invoice” button to approve your order.
Now you just have to click the “Submit Invoice” button to complete your order.
Now you can download the eBook from frontend. Please visit
http://magento.editionguard.com and login with the account you placed the order with.
After logging into the frontend, go to “My Account” than “My Downloadable Products”.
Find the eBook that you previously ordered on the list ( Status = Available ). Once you found
the eBook, you can start downloading “.acsm” file which is generated by EditionGuard.
Open the “.acsm” file with Adobe Digital Editions.
The eBook will be downloaded shortly.
