02EMEC - Course Syllabus Sept 2017
E-Marketing and E-Commerce course is aimed at providing students with the knowledge and
practice on business and marketing via the internet. The course stresses the importance of the
internet in the conduct of business and marketing of products and services around the globe.
The topics to be covered in the course are E-marketing, E-commerce, E-environment, the
management of customer relationship via the internet, and the design and application of the
E-marketing and E-commerce. Student will learn the key roles of modern technologies in
marketing campaigns to attract customers and in the success of national / international
business transactions.
By the end of the course, learners should be able to gain the following knowledge:
Familiarity with E-marketing and E-commerce environments
Identification of the differences between traditional and modern marketing/business tools
Information of how to set up and operate E-marketing and E-commerce

Operating and evaluating different E-marketing and E-commerce tools

By the end of the course, learners should develop the following attitudes:
Acknowledging the impacts of internet on successes of marketing and business operations
Being able to recognize and determined to solve E-marketing and E-commerce problems
Tolerating teething problems caused by the internet on marketing and business operations
The teaching is to be conducted via lecture, group work, online practice and presentations.
Students are required to do homework and assignments, attend classes regularly based on
class schedule, answer questions, join group work/presentations and take exams.
