Atienza Learning Activity 5.2

This document provides calculations for mean, range, and standard deviation for two groups of students' weekly mobile phone load spending. It also provides calculations for mean and standard deviation of two classes' exam scores, including converting the scores to z-scores and plotting them on a z-scale. Finally, it includes calculations to find the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles to construct a box plot for soda calorie data.

Show your complete solution to the following questions.

1. At ABC University, a group of students was selected and asked how much of
their weekly allowance they spent in buying mobile phone load. The following is the list of
amounts spent: Php 120, 110, 100, 200, 10, 90, 100, 100. Calculate the mean, the range, and

d. In which class did you do better? Explain how you analyze it.

My score in Math may be higher than my grade in Science but the z score in Science is
greater. The standard deviation is a bit low in Science as well. It is farther from the mean,
which means that I did better in Science compared to my classmates scores, and compared
to my Math class.
