3. Admissions Eligibility

◆ A person who satisfies the nationality and educational qualifications below and meets one of the language
proficiency qualifications

1. Freshman
Eligibility

- Both the applicant and his/her parents must be foreign nationals.


※ An applicant and/or their parents with dual Korean citizenship are NOT eligible.
1. Nationality
※ If the student and his/her parents are of foreign nationality before receiving the education stage
equivalent to high school curriculum in South Korea, he/she can apply.

- International students must have completed or expect to complete their high


school education in either Korea or abroad or must have attained an equivalent
level of education under the related laws.
2. Academic
※ Home-schooling, cyber learning, and adult education are NOT recognized as academic
requirements
backgrounds.
※ Applicants for new students from university in korea must return to their home country
and obtain a visa after being admission to Incehon National Univerisity

A. Korean Language Proficiency (Korean Track):


Applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
1) TOPIK Level 3 or above
※ Applicants for Korean Language and Literature or Korean Trade & Commerce majors/
College of Information and Technology need a TOPIK level 4 certification or above.
2) Complete the INU Language Center (Korean Language Course) Level 5 or above
3) Pass the INU Korean Proficiency Test.
3. Language (The exact date will be announced - Students must apply on the online application form)

B. English Proficiency (English Track): ONLY for applicants of the Korean Trade &

※ The current D-2 visa holders are not allowed to change new D-2 visa in Korea.

2. Preparing the Documents (Academic Requirement))


1) Consulate Legalization
- The original documents in English should be certified by Korean Embassy or consulate. (No
translation needed)
- The original documents other than Korean or English should be translated into Korean or English
and notarized. Documents must be certified by the Korean Embassy or consulate after notarization.

(2) Apostille
- After translation (English or Korean) and notarization of the original documents, you can apply for
an apostille at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office. (Only for member nation of Apostille agreement,
if not, need consulate legalization)
- Chinese applicants are not a party of the apostille agreement. (See Credentials Report or Consulate
Legalization.)

5. Application Form and Submission

(1) A
 fter completing the online application, applicants must submit all the required documents.
Applicants who fail to submit the required documents, even if their online applications are
completed, will be excluded from the admissions process.

Fill out the application form. After submitting, print it out.


Click the “제출 Submit” button. (By 17:00 May 26, 2023)

(2) A
 pplicants must fill out the application form carefully and submit the documents correctly since the
information and documents submitted will be used during the application period. If there are any
modifications, notify to the International Service Center.
(3) The applicant’s name should be written exactly as it appears on his/her passport.
(4) T
 he applicant’s name and alien registration number should be correctly written. If the applicant has
an alien registration number, write it down correctly. If the applicant does not have alien registration
number, write as follows.
Ex) A male (female) student who was born on May 15, 1992: 920515-599999(6999999)
A male (female) student who was born on May 15, 2000: 000515-799999(8999999)
(5) W
 rite down personal information such as high school, address, phone (mobile) number, e-mail
address correctly. (This should match submitted documents exactly.)
(6) T
 he name of the school should be its official English name.
(7) A
 pplicants must be Korean Language Certificate or English Language Certificate holders and write
the score on application. The expiration date of the Certificate of Language should not expire
before the online application period has ended.
(8) A
 pplicants who did not submit a language certificate before the deadline (due to the date of a
language test) must express written notification on the application.
(9) Photos (3cm*4cm) taken within 3 months are to be uploaded online.
(10) If an applicant presents any false information, fails to submit required application materials or
cannot be contacted, the applicant may be withdrawn from admission review.
(11) Applicants cannot change their major after the application period.

6. Important Notes for Applicants

1. Notes about the Required Documents


(1) All submitted documents should be original copies (apostilled or verified by the consulate).
(2) D
 ocuments in languages other than English or Korean must have a notarized Korean translation
attached to them with the certificate of translation.
(3) You might need to submit supporting additional documents if requested.
(4) After
 the required documents submission, changes are not allowed and submitted documents
shall not be returned.
(5) To-be
 graduate students should submit their graduation certificates to the International Service
Center before admission.

2. Notes about Cancellation of Admission


(1) The phone number (or mobile phone) of applicants should be filled in correctly. If an applicant is not
contacted due to false information, the applicant may be withdrawn from admission review.
(2) Any inaccurate information of successful applicant’s academic background or others may cause the
cancellation of admissions even though it will be realized after the semester starts.
(3) A
 pplicants should keep in mind that their academic background will be checked (e.g. Academic
Verification Form). If the institution fails to verify the authenticity of student’s documents, the
admission may be revoked.
(4) F
 ailure to submit required documents or false entries in the documents (e.g. forgery, falsification,
examination irregularities, or ineligibility) will lead to cancellation of admission.
(5) A
 dmitted students should complete the registration process (payment of tuition fee) within the
designated period. INU will automatically rescind the admission acceptance of applicants who fail
to do so.
(6) F
 ailure to submit the graduation certificate before the semester start date may invalidate student’s
admission.
(7) A
 dmitted students to INU are not allowed to register for any other universities in Korea which are
scheduled to hold the same academic year for admissions as that of INU. If an admitted student
does not comply with this regulation, the offer of admission will be cancelled.
(8) S
 tudents take full responsibility for complying with the terms of the student visa. If a student’s visa
is refused, admission will be automatically invalid.

3. Etc.
(1) S
 tudents are not allowed to take a leave of absence during their first semester because of INU’s
regulations.
(2) This Guide Book is originally written in Korean and translated into English and Chinese. The Korean
Guide Book prevails over translated versions in case of any conflict over other languages.
(3) M
 atters that are not stipulated in this guide shall comply with the admissions procedures and
regulations of INU, related law, policies, and the decisions of INU Committee of Admissions. After
the start of the semester, students should follow the INU’s regulations.

4. Information on the collection and use of personal information.


(1) P
 ersonal information collected and used is used for admission screening, academic work,
scholarship, statistics, etc. as the applicant’s name, date of birth, foreign registration number,
address, high school of origin, and contact information.
(2) If the purpose of processing has been achieved or the retention period has elapsed, the collection
information is reversed, and the collection information is not used or provided beyond the above
range without consent.
(3) A
 pplicants for Incheon National University seem to agree to SMS and mobile transmission related
to screening through mobile phones and e-mail.

2. Interview Information:

3. Evaluation Criteria
- Students will be selected based on scholastic aptitude and language proficiency.
- Disqualification Criteria:
1) More than two of the selection criteria were evaluated at a level of 'E' during the interview

 or Performing Arts, more than three of the selection criteria were evaluated at a level of ‘E’
during the interview and performance test.

※ An official ID, such as an alien registration card or passport, is necessary for the interview.

4. Notification of Admission
- Notices will be posted on the website. (No individual notification will be provided.)
- Students accepted by INU should be fully aware of all the comments from the website.
- Acceptance of admission could be cancelled if the tuition fee is not paid within the specified
period.
- The Acceptance Notification and the Registration Invoice are accessible through the INU website
during registration.
- When paying the tuition fee via wire transfer from overseas, the student must wire enough to
cover both the tuition fee and the international wire transfer fee.
- Dual registration is not allowed. If a student is accepted at two universities or more, the student
must register at only one university. Violating this policy may result in revocation of admission to
INU and the other universities.

5. Refund Policy

An admitted student who wishes to withdraw from the acceptance of INU must submit the
“Designated Withdrawal Form” and a copy of their Korean bank book to the International Service
Center. If withdrawing after the designated period, refunds will be refunded according to the
university policy. (More details will be announced on the website.)
