Moreno FS2 Module CP7

The document discusses designing learning assessment. It provides guidelines for observing a reflective teacher (RT) to learn about assessing learning. Students are expected to reflect on the RT's process for selecting assessment tools and designing assessments of, for, and as learning. The goal is to assist in selecting and designing assessments that address students' learning styles and align with objectives, while using formative and summative assessments as well as technology. Students consider flexibility and tailoring assessments to suit class needs.

Course Packet 07

Designing Learning Assessment

Introduction
You have learned that assessment is an important part of teaching and
learning. There are different types of assessment for different purposes. There
are assessment of, as, and for learning. In this course, you are expected to
reflect and assist in selecting and designing of learning assessment. You are
expected to work with this course packet for 6 hours.

Objective
At the end of this learning packet, you are expected to assist in selecting and
designing assessment FOR, AS, OF learning.

Observation/Participation Guidelines
1. Observe or interview your RT to determine how he/she conducts
assessment OF, FOR, and AS learning.
2. You may ask your RT why these tools were used.
3. Reflect on the teachers’ consideration for coming up with the selection.
4. Consider the problem areas in learning assessment that had been
shared by your RT. Try to match the problem situation with a probable
action through AR. Use this template for capsule AR proposal. The
intention of this activity is to help train your mind to look for problems
systematically, and search for probable action.

Activity Sheet 07
INSTRUCTIONS: Reflect on the teachers’ consideration for coming up with the selection.
What are the new things that you have learned about the process of selecting and developing
learning assessment tools? Answer in 100-200 words.

Teachers have an essential responsibility as educators to shape and influence the thinking and
development of their students. They are selecting and developing learning assessment tools.
They recognize that a thoughtful and detailed approach is necessary for an enhanced student
learning experience. They consider various elements, such as students' diverse learning styles
and preferences, alignment with learning objectives, formative and summative assessments,
technology integration, and flexibility.

Firstly, teachers acknowledge that students have different learning styles and preferences. To
address this, they incorporate various assessment methods, such as multiple-choice
questions, essays, group projects, presentations, and portfolios. This approach ensures that
each student's strengths and weaknesses are adequately addressed and that they receive the
necessary support to succeed.

Moreover, teachers understand the importance of aligning assessments with learning

objectives. They carefully design assessments to evaluate students' understanding of the
material and ensure they align with the learning objectives. This process ensures that students
receive feedback relevant to their learning goals, helping them improve their performance.

Additionally, teachers recognize the significance of formative and summative assessments in

learning. Formative assessments provide ongoing feedback that helps students improve their
performance, while summative assessments measure what students have learned at the end
of a unit or course. Teachers understand that continuous feedback is essential to fostering
continuous improvement in students' learning.

Furthermore, teachers emphasize technology integration, acknowledging the importance of

incorporating tools that cater to the digital age. They use technology to facilitate assessments,
such as online quizzes, interactive games, and simulations. This approach ensures students
are engaged and motivated to learn, resulting in a more effective learning experience.

Lastly, the selection process also emphasizes the importance of flexibility. Teachers
acknowledge that different subjects and students may require distinct assessment
approaches. Therefore, teachers tailor their approach to suit the specific needs of each class
and student, ensuring that all students receive the necessary support to succeed.

The selection and development of learning assessment tools require a nuanced and
multifaceted approach. Teachers must be adaptable and inclusive and align their strategy
with educational goals. They must leverage technology to enhance the learning experience
and ensure all students receive the necessary support to succeed. By doing so, they play a
crucial role in fostering continuous improvement in students' learning.

Assessment 07
INSTRUCTION: Consider the problem areas in learning assessment that had been shared by
your RT. Try to match the problem situation with a probable action through AR. Use this
template for capsule AR proposal. The intention of this activity is to help train your mind to
look for problems systematically, and search for probable action.

Problem/ Context
(Describe the problem or context in 30-50 words)

Teachers evaluate students' performance by analyzing their tests, exams, assignments, and
projects. The assessment process plays four significant roles, including grading the
students and providing them with feedback, communicating with them about their
progress, motivating them to stay focused, and involving them in the course.

Significance
(Give 1-2 significance of the proposed AR)
● To Maintain good performance, "To ensure that the grading system continues to
function at an optimal level, it is essential to create assessment tools that are both
efficient and effective. These tools will enable teachers and educators to accurately
evaluate students' learning progress and provide them with valuable feedback
that can help them improve their performance.

● By using reliable and consistent assessment methods, educators can ensure that
the grading system remains fair and transparent and that students are being
evaluated based on their actual abilities and achievements." grading system

Proposed Intervention/ Innovation/ Strategy

(Describe the Proposed Intervention/ Innovation/ Strategy AND reason for choosing this
proposed action. Use 30-50 words only)
With the help of innovative learning assessment tools, teachers can now accurately
evaluate their student's progress and identify areas that require improvement. These
tools include various applications and activities that make the assessment process
hassle-free and engage students in a more interactive learning experience. Integrating
