3 Marks
1. Calculate the area bounded by the parabola y2 = 4ax and its latus rectum.
2. Using integration, find the area of the region bounded by the parabola
y2 = 16x and the line x = 4.
3. Find area bounded by the line y = x, the x-ais and the ordinates x = -1,
x = 2.
4. Find by integration, the area of the region bounded by the curve
y = 2x – x2 and the x-axis.
5. By using integration Find the area of a circle of radius r units.

1. Using integration, find the area enclosed by the parabola y2 = 16x and
the chord y = mx.
2. Find the area of the region { (x, y): x2 ≤ y ≤ x}.
3. Find the area of the region bounded by the curve x2 = 4y and line
x = 4y – 2.
4. Find the area of the region bounded by the circle x2 + y2 = 16 and the
line y = x in the first quadrant.
5. Using integration, find the area of ABC, whose vertices are A(2, 0),
B(4, 5) and C(6, 3).

{ (x, y) : y2 ≤ 4x, 4x2 + 4y2 ≤ 9}.
10. Find the area of the region bounded by the curve y = x2 + 2 and the
lines y = x, x = 0 and x = 3.
