Simple Present Tense expresses everyday activities: routines, habits, and customs.
Examples:
My cousin and I go to the movies every Saturday
My mom cooks fish very well
I study English twice a week.
Simple present is formed just using the base form of the verb, without using “to” (to play – play / to
work – work / to eat – eat):
I play,
You play
We play,
They play
1. Add “s”: third person singular I work, you work, he works, we work, they work
2. When “s, sh, ch, x, o, z”, add “es” I wash, you wash, she washes, we wash, they wash
3. When “y” after a consonant, eliminate “y” and add “ies” I study, you study, she studies,
we study, they study
4. Verb “have” transforms in “has” I have, you have, it has, we have, they have
