BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: You are invited to participate in a research initiative conducted by Iqra
University. This project aims to delve into the current state of the education system, its impact on the
broader community, and reciprocally, the factors within the community influencing its educational
landscape. The research seeks to contribute to a comprehensive evaluation of the ways in which the
university can leverage its academic resources to potentially support initiatives aimed at eradicating
poverty and its repercussions in the community. As a member of the university community, your unique
perspective can offer valuable insights, and we would appreciate the opportunity to interview you.

PROCEDURES: The interview will be conducted in a discussion format, possibly a group discussion, and is
anticipated to last no more than 1 hour. With your consent, the interview will be audiotaped solely for
the purpose of accurately transcribing the conversation. Additionally, I seek permission to capture
photographs during the interview. Both the audiotapes and photographs, along with transcriptions, will
be securely stored. Your cooperation is highly appreciated.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND RISK: There is a level of risk associated, particularly if you disclose confidential
information. If you prefer, we are willing to use pseudonyms to safeguard your privacy and
confidentiality. Conversely, if you wish to have your name attributed to specific statements, I can also
open to accommodating that preference. Please be aware that you are not obligated to respond to any
questions or address topics that make you uncomfortable.

WITHDRAWAL OF PARTICIPATION: If, at any point during the interview or discussion, you choose to
discontinue your participation, you have the right to withdraw your consent without prejudice.

COSTS BENEFITS: There are no direct costs involved with participation, although you may miss an hour
of work/study and possibly pay for that time. There are no direct advantages for you individually.
However, your involvement will contribute to a broader understanding of the successes and challenges
perceived by you and your community. It also presents an opportunity to bring these challenges to the
attention of Iqra University and collaborate on addressing them.
