Second Term English Exam (2AS TM) 2017-2018

Part one: (15 pts)

A/ Text Comprehension: Read the text carefully then answer the following questions (8pts)

Technology has been part of our life and it is one of the key ingredients for the survival of mankind
to live in an ever changing environment. The development of new technology helps people save lives. It
helps people make work easier and makes the world a better place to live in.
Education is developing as time passes by. Today, professors can use projectors as their teaching
tools. Visual presentation through technological devices allows professors to make visual learners easily
understand. It is also due to technology that schools can now show videos, pictures or educational movies
to students easily.
We can share our past, enrich our present and expand our futures through the use of social media.
Texting, calling, and emailing have revolutionized the way we keep in touch. Thus, thanks to technology
that these forms of communication are continuously and enormously developing.
In the past, diseases and epidemics were difficult to identify because doctors did not have the tools
to do so. Nowadays, an hour is already enough to identify any sickness of a patient although some diseases
may take a while due to certain stages of evaluation.
In addition to medicine, transportation has also known great advancements, without which travelling
from one place to another would take too long and it could be a waste of time.
Technology made us dependent on it and we cannot expect or imagine our life without technology.
Hence, technology plays a major role in our lives.
