This document describes using SkyCiv software to analyze a determinate and indeterminate truss structure. For the determinate truss, the geometry was modeled, materials and sections were defined, supports and loads were applied, and the analysis was run to obtain reactions, internal forces, displacements, and stresses. The results were compared to manual calculations. For the indeterminate truss, a new member was added, rendering the structure redundant, and the analysis was rerun to obtain updated results. In conclusion, the document demonstrated using SkyCiv to design and analyze trusses but had some errors in the initial truss modeling that affected subsequent results.

Part 1: Analysis of determinate truss
1. Introduction:
Needs referencingSkyCiv is an industry-leading online design and structural analysis application that allows users
to construct and solve complicated 3D structures. Its strong yet simple features allow civil and

bend, stress, shearing, and deflection. SkyCiv's Structural Analysis Software provides top-tier
tools for running precise readings on designs and assisting engineers in developing 3D
structures in real-time with life-size scaling and diverse modeling capabilities. Furthermore,
consumers have access to automatic designer tools that include a variety of services that aid in
the construction of realistic designs. SkyCiv integrates with Revit and Excel to provide real-time
export and import data support with pinpoint accuracy. The aim of this lab report is using
software for solving complex statically determinate/indeterminate trusses.

Initial setup of skyciv?

2. Geometry: Show NODE option
1-At first, the node option was used to input the coordinates; the figure below shows each
coordinate with its node.

check coordinate again

2-The nodes were then linked together using the member option. Show member option

e.g. length
Materials:
1- From the materials options structural steel was chosen as martial for the truss,

Default properties?

Sections:
1- From the sections options, three cross sectional areas were added matching the given data. each
section has different color.

Explain the logic here

Supports:
The supports were created using the "supports" option. These support parts help to keep the
truss design stable. At nodes 1 and 3, two-pin supports were employed.

Loads and analysis:

• A point load was applied to the truss at node 5.

• Then the analysis started after applying the parameters.

Part 2: Analysis of indeterminate truss
1- A new member (2) to node (5) has been added to the truss, rendering it 1-degree redundant.
2-The cross sectional area of the member is1280 (mm2).
3- Then analyzing the truss again.

Comparison and conclusion:

Finally, the computer program was used to assess determinate and indeterminate trusses. In
the first section of the study, we covered how to use software to design and analyze trusses,
and we compared skyciv findings to human results. Furthermore, the additional member has
been added to the truss in the second section to make it indeterminate. The additional member
had no effect on the outcomes.
