Q10 Which of the following statement is correct?
a) Greater the value of young’s modulus of a material, lesser is its elasticity
b) Greater the value of young’s modulus of a material, larger is its elasticity
c) both( a) and ( b ) d) only (a)
B) Assertion reason based questions
one labelled Assertion (A) and other labelled Reason (R)
Select the correct answer from the codes (a), (b), (c) and (d) as given below

(a) Both (A) and (R) are true and (R) is correct explanation at (A).

(b) Both (A) and (R) are true but (R) is not correct explanation at (A).

(c) (A) is true but (R) is false

(d) (A) is false but (R) is true

Q11 Assertion: On a rainy day, it is difficult to drive a car at high speed.
Reason: The value of coefficient of friction is lowered due to wetting surface.
Q.12 Assertion: No force is required to move a body uniformly along a straight line.
Reason: Because F=ma=0.
Q13 At the centre of earth ,a body has centre of mass, but no centre of gravity.
Reason: This is because g=0 at centre of earth.
Q 14.Assertion: Moment of inertia of a body is same, whatever be the axis of rotation .
Reason: Moment of inertia depends on the mass and axis of rotation of the body.
Q15.Assertion:Torque is required to rotate a body uniformly.
Reason : No force is required to move a body uniformly along a straight line.
Q16 Assertion: A body can move on a circular path without having acceleration.
Reason: In a uniform circular motion , the linear speed of the body is not constant.
Q17Assertion : A balloon filled with hydrogen will fall with acceleration g/6 on the moon.
Reason: Moon has no atmosphere.
Q18Assertion: Stress and modulus of elasticity have same dimensions
Reason : Strain is dimensionless

Q21. What do you understand by orbital and escape velocity?
Q22. What are the SI units of gravitational intensity and gravitational potential?
Q23 The linear momentum of a body can change only in the direction of applied
force. Comment.
Q24 A car of mass 1000kg is moving with a velocity of 10m/s and is acted upon
by a forward force of 1000N due to engine and retarding force of 500N due

calculate i) amplitude ii) wavelength iii) angular wave number iv) frequency
v) time period of wave .
Q27The work done by the system is 8 J , when 40 J is supplied to it.What is the increase
internal energy of system.
D(CASE STUDY)
Q28 Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics states that two systems in thermal equilibrium
with a third system separately are in thermal equilibrium with each other. The Zeroth
Law clearly suggests that when two systemsA and B, are in thermal equilibrium,
there must be a physical quantity that has the same value for both. This
thermodynamic variable whose value is equal for two systems in thermal equilibrium
is called temperature (T). Thus, if A and B are separately in equilibrium with
C, TA = TC and TB = TC. This implies that TA = TB i.e. the systems A and B are
also in thermal equilibrium. Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics leads to the concept of
internal energy of a system. We know that every bulk system consists of a large
number of molecules. Internal energy is simply the sum of the kinetic energies and
potential energies of these molecules. A certain amount of heat is supplied to the
system’ or ‘a certain amount of work was done by the system its energy changes.
1) Three thermodynamic systems are at temperature of 500 c .what can we say
about them?
a) Heat flows between them
b) It obeys Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics
c) Temperature of one system will increase and temperature of remaining two will
decrease
d) None of these
2) Zeroth law of thermodynamics helped in the creation of which scale?
a) Temperature b) Heat energy
c) Pressure d) Internal energy
3) State Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics
4) Define Internal energy of system
