WHAT IS DRB ALLIED APPLIANCES
CENTER?

DRB ALLIED APPLIANCES CENTER was founded by Thelma S. Montellano and Juan Montellano, a
Filipino couple roots traces back to Gasan Marinduque. Opened their first branch store in Boac San
Miguel Marinduque in 1978 and later the first branch under the DEL ROSARIO BROTHERS (DRB) name
in 1978. In 1987, more branches established around Marinduque and by 2005, the business
ventured into a home appliance store business.
DRB is a Sole Proprietorship since the owners , also called as
proprietors, assumes complete control and responsibility for the
business. Unlike other business structures, such as partnerships or
corporations, there is no legal separation between the owner and the
business itself. This means that the proprietor owns all the assets and
liabilities of the business personally. It is one of the most
straightforward forms of business ownership, requiring minimal
formalities for its establishment. While this simplicity can be
advantageous, it also means that the proprietor is personally liable for
all debts and legal obligations of the business. The income generated
by the business is typically reported on the owner's personal tax
return.
Based on the owners, the main reason why they
chose that form of business organization was
because of the simplicity, control, tax flexibility,
Low Startup Costs, direct Customer Interaction,
and Limited Liability Acceptance of that form of
business organization.
DRB operates in merchandising business involves buying finished
products (goods) from suppliers or manufacturers and then reselling
these products to customers without significant alteration or
transformation of the goods. DRB also has Inventory Management ,
which maintain an inventory of goods that they purchase for resale.
Resale of Finished Products, focuses on acquiring already-produced
products and distributing them to customers. No Substantial Alteration,
The goods sold by DRB are generally resold in the same or substantially
similar form as they were received from suppliers. There may be
minimal packaging or labeling changes, but there is no significant
alteration or transformation of the products. Retail or Wholesale Sales,
DRB can operate as retailers or wholesalers. Retailers sell products
directly to end consumers, while wholesalers sell to other businesses,
which may include retailers or other wholesalers and lastly we have the
Profit Margin through Markup, These businesses make their profit by
pricing the products they buy from suppliers at a higher price (markup)
than the cost they paid for them.
