Guidelines on NSTP-CWTS Policies on Attendance, Uniform, and Grading System

A. Attendance
1. A student is required to attend 4 hours for every Saturday session.
2. Each hour will be treated as a 1-day session which is equivalent to 4 days of attendance.
3. Checking of students’ attendance should be done during the first 15 minutes of the first hour of
the session and 30 minutes before the end of the session.
4. Students who will come late after the roll call shall be marked late for the whole session. A
student is only allowed two (2) late arrivals whether consecutive or not. On the 3rd arrival, the
student will be marked absent for one whole Saturday session and every time thereafter
(or every time he/she comes late).
5. Each late arrival is also equivalent to 10 demerit points to be deducted from the accumulated
points in his/her class standing.
6. The allowable number of unexcused absences is 8 hours or 2 Saturday sessions only
whether consecutive or not. A student who incurs more than the said allowance shall be
marked “FA” (Failure due to Absences) regardless of his/her class standing.
7. A student is required to present an EXCUSE LETTER to his NSTP Facilitator in advance or
before the scheduled absence. For unforeseen absences, the student shall present
immediately his/her excuse letter during the following sessions; otherwise, the absence
will be considered unexcused.
8. Accepted excuse letters are as follows:
• Medical Certificate from family doctor.
• Excuse letter signed by parents, relatives/and/or guardian with attached valid identification
card for signature verification;
• For athletes-letter from Coaches duly noted by OSSD and the College Dean citing the
specific date and time of competition or activity.
• For school-related activities- letter from the teacher-in-charge duly noted by the College
Dean citing reason/s for being excused. Such activity should be formally endorsed to the
NSTP Office before the actual activity date; otherwise, the said letter will not be
honored.
• When considered excused, a student is required to render community service equivalent
to the number of lost contact hours. The NSTP facilitator/coordinator shall identify the
community to be served and the schedule to be followed, strict compliance of which is
mandatory; otherwise, the service hours rendered will not be credited, which will be
considered as an unexcused absence.

B. Uniform
1. Students are required to wear complete NSTP uniform: NSTP shirt, maong pants, and
rubber shoes every session.
2. Failure to comply with the required set of uniforms means NO merit for attendance but
the students will earn scores for their class standing should they decide to nonetheless join the
activities.
3. For students’ security and comfort, the following must be carried out:
