X. Rationale:
Gender sensitivity is the modification of behavior by raising awareness of gender
equality concerns. Being gender sensitive is about changing behavior and instilling
empathy into the views that are held about personal and other genders.
Gender sensitivity helps our society in several ways. First, it promotes equality and
fairness by challenging discrimination and bias based on gender. This helps to create a

more just and inclusive society where everyone has equal opportunities to succeed
regardless of their gender.
Gender-sensitive policies recognize and promote gender equality. Specifically, they provide
for recognizing gender issues and fair representation of marginalized groups; recognize the role of
women in society; accord equal citizenship rights, freedom from discrimination, affirmative
action in favor of women, etc.

XI. Terminal Objective:


Gender sensitivity is to understand and give consideration to socio-cultural norms and
discriminations in order to acknowledge the different rights, roles & responsibilities of women
and men in the community and the relationships between them.

XII. Enabling Objectives:


TLE/TVL teachers will be able to utilize gender sensitivity of understanding and taking
account of the societal and cultural factors involved in gender-based exclusion and
discrimination in the most diverse spheres of public and private life.

XIII. Expected Outputs:


Participants ensures any educational materials used show genders in equal measure. Mix
boys and girls to work on projects together. Explore gender concepts and roles from different
communities. Avoid segregating boys and girls into separate lines, separate sports activities and
mix seating up in the classroom.

XIV. Activity Description:


Face to face Training Orientation/Seminar Workshop

XV. Performance Indicators:


Pre-Test and Post Test Results, contextualized printed lesson plans and contextualized
power point presentation and other learning materials produced.
