Course Description

1. Know the history of Microprocessor


2. Define Microprocessor
3. Know the internal architecture of a microprocessor
4. Explain different types of busses and basic architecture of computer
Course Objectives

Students undergoing this course are expected to:

1 This course deals with the systematic study of the Architecture and programming issues of 8 bit 8085-
microprocessor and interfacing with other peripheral ICs and co-processor
2 Learn the different types of serial communication techniques.
3 This subject deals about the basic 16-bit (8086) processor and an 8-bit (8051) controllers, their
architecture, internal organization and their functions, interfacing an external device with the
processors/ controllers.
4 Understand concepts of register transfer logic and arithmetic operations
5 An introductory course in microprocessor software and hardware: architecture, timing sequence,
operation, and programming – and discussion of appropriate software diagnostic language and tools.
