volunteers extraordinaire
If you were unable to attend our 4th of July Picnic this year, you missed one heck of a good time and it was completely planned from start to finish by LINDA KNUTSON and her troop of talented volunteers. Over the past four years, Linda has given 100% of herself to our community. Linda also spent two years devoted to the Activities Committee and would be the first to tell you how difficult it can be to put great parties like the 4th of July together, and how rewarding it is to be responsible for a successful event. To this day, Linda assists the community by retaining her own email group to help spread the word about great events in the making. Thank you Linda! Since our Volunteer KickOff in March 2011, KAREN WALL has been behind the scenes ensuring all 50+ volunteers are prepared, organized and given the proper direction when volunteering with the Lifestyle department. Karen spent the last two years as a Neighborhood Representative focusing on creating positive communications between residents and the Association. She has also coordinated all pickle ball activities, designed welcome cards for the New Beginnings welcome committee and is active with Protect Our Water. Thank you Karen! Please thank Linda and Karen for their dedication and hard work on behalf of Sun City Anthem!

Anthem Recycling
DO ALL YOU CAN DO! It is evident that many of you are doing a terrific job recycling. Recycling is a way of thinking and looking at things. Sometimes we tend to overlook the obvious/not so obvious. Lets take a look at recycling paper. Most people are recycling newspapers and corrugated boxes. But, there are lots of other things that can be recycled. So, below is a checklist for you to see if you are recycling all you can. Check off those you can start recycling. ___Paper wrappers (cereal boxes, candy bars, frozen foods, egg cartons, toothpaste, laundry products/ soap, etc.) ___Paper cups, plates. Napkins and tablecloths ___Paper towel and toilet paper rollers ___Used copy paper ___Used gift-wrapping paper ___Junk mail, old greeting cards ___Paper grocery bags ___Magazine, catalogs, old paperback books ___Prescription bottle containers ___Old maps ___Beer 6-pack holders ___Cat litter boxes ___Garden bags (for soil) Cut this little list out and tape it in a conspicuous place to remind yourself. To recycle shredded paper, put it in a plastic bag, punch holes in the bag to compress it and put in the paper recycle bin. Dont forget to flatten your corrugated boxes!
