Subject Area: Sun and the planets Subject SCIENCE

Start Date: November 29, 2023 End Date: November 30, 2023

Topic/Activity: Solar System

STANDARD AND COMPETENCY: Which standards and competencies are aligned with the lesson and can be integrated to
deepen learning?

OBJECTIVES: (specific, skill-oriented, and measurable goals which you want your students to be able to accomplish after the lesson is
completed). – begin with an end in mind. What is the purpose of this lesson? In the end, SWBAT demonstrates mastery of a particular skill,
knowledge, or behavior.

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to


1. Identify and compare the planets of the solar system; and
2. Arrange a model of the solar system showing the relative sizes of the planets and their relative distances from the Sun.
RESOURCES: Which texts will be used? Are those texts available in multiple modes? Do the texts include a range of print and digital
text in diverse media? Insert hyperlinks or URLs or titles of books, articles, and other materials here.

Pictures of objects representing different states of matter.

DO-NOW: What is it that students need to know and be able to do prior to this lesson? How will you determine what students know and can
do in preparation for this unit?

The teacher will give an activity (Balloon Popping).

MINI-LESSON: (teacher teaches particular skills, extends previous learning, creates interest in a topic and generates questions, or
introduces strategies) – use a specific strategy. How does technology support teaching and learning?

The teacher will try to give some questions and the students will try to answer it orally
DISCUSSION:
The teacher will show a video with regards to the topic ( Solar System).
The teacher will start to discuss and explain the whole topic.
GUIDED PRACTICE: Students will demonstrate that they have grasped the concepts and the skills by providing the students
opportunities to be flexible, make choices, take initiative, interact with others, be accountable, and be a leader.

The teacher will call each of the students and ask some questions:
1.For you , what is the most amazing planet?
2.What do you think if one of the planets suddenly disappear?

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE: Provide students with opportunities for application of skills, student-directed inquiry, analysis,
evaluation, and/or reflection? Ensure that they can connect this lesson with previous lessons or other disciplines. Students will reinforce skills
and synthesize their new knowledge on their own and away from the teacher's guidance ).

The teacher will give the students an activity related to the topic, (Arranging the planets according to their
distance from the Sun.

ASSESSMENT: How will you assess your students to elicit direct, observable evidence in order to monitor and/or measure student
learning and inform instruction? In what ways do students have multiple options to demonstrate their learning?

The teacher will give the students worksheet that is related to Solar System

FEEDBACK: What open-ended, grade-level appropriate questions will prompt exploration, innovation, and critical thinking about the big
ideas?

The teacher will ask the following questions:


1. Do you understand the discussion?
2. What are the eight planets again?
3. Do you think matter is important in our lives?
