Multiple Choice
Directions: Read each item carefully. Write only the letter of the correct
answer for each question.
1. Which part of the microscope would you use to make small adjustments
to the magnified image?
ACTIVITY # ________
Objectives:
1.To identify the parts and functions of the light compound microscope.
2.To know how to handle and use the Microscope properly.
Materials:
Procedure:
1.Your teacher is going to demonstrate before the class, the proper ways of handling
the Microscope from the time you get it from the counter until you place it down on
the lab table. She will also point out the various parts of the Microscope and how
they are supposed to be manipulated.
2.After having been shown all the parts of the Compound Microscope, you are now
expected to be able to point them out in your own Microscope.
3.Identify first the larger parts of the Microscope which are the ARM, BASE, BODY
TUBE and the STAGE.
6. Which is longer, the high power objective (HPO) or the lower power objective
(LPO)? _______________________________
Look for the magnification numbers of the objectives.
What is the magnification number of the LPO? ______________________
The HPO? __________________
Put the LPO directly in line with the ocular.
