He asked some more questions which I can't recall at the moment. There was a class 3 candidate with
me. Whenever he could not answer something, he asked me to tell him the answer.
What I think is Bashar sir prefers the answer 'Dont know' to a question than beating about the bush.
The best part of attending Oral to Bashar sir is he makes the atmosphere comfortable around you. This
has helped me a lot to calm down and think of answers to the question.

My suggestion: Please ensure you have drawn good quality drawings (Better not with free hand) and
have positive attitude with clear basic. Better to make sure you have read manuals and books rather
than chotha.
Sir was not satisfied with my answers..but sir explained me many things regarding the mindset i should
have during study..sir told me to emphasis on learning not passing...He told that we guys are lacking in
guidance regarding preparation..Thats why our answers are not arranged in the chronology that
suppose to be.
My fault i told that i will check the condition of the Er bottom floor for any damage
Sir told you shouldn’t go as you have subordinates, you should stop engine first from the engine
room,then send others for checking,infrom CE..
Normally in grounding the bottom stucture are not damaged so you should check the condition of the
DB TANKS..TURN the turning gear to check the condition of the engine..if not turning do not turn untill
ship afloat..
Air bottle survey no need enclosed space permit..
Pitting corrosion -you can use the bottle with reduced pressure.. By setting the air compressor setting..
My opinion is that i tried to take preparation as i need to say lot info..try to take preparation that you
can say from your common sense as well. But i think examinee should be relaxed and take proper
sleep before exam..
1)main engine jacket cooling water setting temperature 80 degree celcious but temperature showing 70
degree, explain the reason & how to rectify

4) crosshead bearing clearence checking procedure

This was my 2nd time to Bashar sir. At first he asked me about my previous questions. I gave him the
answers which I prepared after failing 1st time one by one. There were 10-12 questions.
This took a very long time with 3 or 4 breaks. Some questions I can not remember. As
usual, Sir er kichu questions mathar upor diye geche.
Pass er bapare luck, presentation onek boro factor. In fact, I was not at my best today too.

I could not tell crosshead bearing clearance procedure and Exi, Exd details properly. All the other
questions I answered elaborately with all safety preparations but for some reason sir was in a bad mood
today. I told almost 15 points for pump room safeties, after Viva I asked about my faults, sir told I did
not tell Exi and Exd in pump room safeties.
At the end of viva sir told me , to pass I need to ans 90% questions and can not miss any safety
related questions.
