To establish and maintain an effective system to tackle all emergencies arising due to the process carried out by the
Organization.
2.0 SCOPE
It is applicable for all types of emergencies.

5.1 Emergency Response Plan
5.1.1 Prepare Emergency Response (ERP) Plans / Health and Safety Plans to combat the emergency situations for
each case. EPR plans / Project Health and Safety Plans should include as applicable,
 The type of emergency
 System for communication in case of occurrence
 Reporting systems and the roles and responsibilities of individuals.
 Location of response Equipment, like usage instructions, personal protective equipment, firefighting
equipment.
 Maps & details depicting location of activities, products & services associated with the identified aspects of
concerns if applicable.
 Evacuation routes & response procedures
 Agency notification procedures
 Procedure to mitigate the situation.
 The Client / Customer prepared plans are also acceptable.
5.2 Mock Drills
5.2.1 Both internal and external mock drills are conducted periodically and recorded wherever applicable. The
potential emergencies shall be simulated appropriately where required. Responses of operating personnel in
such situations shall be gauged and communicated to the staff concerned. Use results of mock drill / actual
emergency to review effectiveness of Emergency Responds Plan / health and safety plans.
5.3 Corrective and Preventive Measures
5.3.1 Prepare preventive maintenance plans, periodic checklists for confirming that equipment whose malfunction
may result in an emergency are always in good condition.
5.3.2 Prepare corrective/ preventive action plans to prevent occurrence. Methods to responds to, mitigate & prevent
releases that arise because of an emergency shall be amended as required by maintenance team.

5.4 Emergency Action


5.4.1 The Incident/Accident controller/Project Manager shall initiate actions as envisaged in the emergency plan,
without waiting for any further instruction. Help of effected department’s department/division shall be taken.
5.4.2 The Incident/Accident controller/Project Manager shall be provided with a list of key personnel for respective
emergencies. The Incident/Accident controller/Project Manager will seek information and services of these key
personnel immediately. All key personnel shall be trained to handle respective emergencies through mock drills
and other training.
5.5 Communication
5.5.1 Communication to statutory bodies /customers within time limits recommended by respective
legislations/regulations/guidelines shall be the responsibility of Management Representative regarding
emergencies.
5.5.2 Communication to Govt.Administration, if called for, shall be the responsibility of public relation Officer / Group
General Manager of MSC.
5.5.3 Internal communication facilities are internal cell Phones, Walkie – talkies and public address system inside the
operational area.
