Circular Letter to Parents No. 5

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Peace and all good!

We are still in the month of January and I would like to greet each of you a “Blessed and Grace-filled
2023.

By this time you must have received the communication from the 3 units – the Grade School, the Junior
High School and the Senior High School regarding student activities. Hoping you will always support
your children as these activities are all for their good. On behalf of the SSAM community, may I thank
you for your continuous support of their Benedictine Education most especially during the past three
years that served as an anchor for the teachers and service personnel to deliver quality service. Also, we
appreciate families meeting their financial obligations promptly despite the economic challenges we all
face each day. The school is always sensitive to the impact on families that any fee increase incurs,
which is why for the past years there has been no increase in the tuition fee, however, it is deemed
necessary to increase tuition fees for SY 2023-2024 and to bring back the pre-pandemic (2019-2020)
special and other fees to enable the School to continue to provide a well-resourced education for all
students.

In the last meeting with the Parent Representatives from Nursery to Grade 12, the administration
presented the proposed increases per level in tuition and special and other fees for school year 2023-
2024. They all unanimously approved such increases. That is, bringing back the pre-pandemic
contribution in all the fees which I am attaching in this circular with the 12% increase in tuition fees.

The Board of Trustees had likewise approved such proposal. Should there be difficulty in the scheme of
payment to some of you, the administration is willing to make the necessary payment scheme suited for
your payment.

Please let it be known that 70% of the increase in tuition fees will go to the salaries of employees, 20%
to the improvement of facilities and 10% for the return in investments. However, within the past three
school years, almost 90% had been given to salaries, wages and benefits of employees already. And
with the present state of affairs the ten percent had been totally used for the improvement of facilities.
We pray that you will also agree with us that teachers and all the other employees should have an
increase in their salaries in order to have a decent living.

Should you want to clarify on any matter pertaining to the new schedule of fees, please do not hesitate
to contact us through the following unit heads in each unit or department: Sr. Jessica Arante, OSB for
the GS department; Sr. Edna Quiambao, OSB for the Junior High School and Senior High School
departments or the academic coordinator of the Junior High School – Mrs. Isabelita Soriano / the Senior
High School Academic Coordinator - Mrs. Maricon De Dios. Or you may come personally on a
scheduled date that you may wish to discuss the matter with us.

May I thank you even now for your kind understanding and full cooperation for the coming school year
2023-2024. Please see attached tuition fees per level and schedule of special and other fees and
miscellaneous fees.

May God bless all of us. May He grant you enough finances to fund your children’s education and the
other needs of your family. Prayers for you all and God bless! That in all thongs God may be glorified!
