INTRODUCTION
This section includes the context and background of the study that provides a
balanced review of the pertinent published literatures on the subject of interest. The
research instructor/adviser should ensure that all the elements identified below are
indicated in the introduction. It should include the following parts and should be
presented WITHOUT sub-headings (long-form narrative):
❖ Rationale/Background
❖ Theoretical Framework
❖ Conceptual Framework (Integrating definition of important concepts/terms as
used in the study)
❖ Brief presentation of the current state of knowledge in the area of inquiry (Identify
key authors, articles, theories, and findings in that area and identify research
gaps through the Review of Related Literature and Studies)
❖ Objectives of the Study (Statement of the Problem integrating the
hypothesis/hypotheses, and Scope and Limitation)
❖ Significance of the Study
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This section provides the procedures used in the study or the experiment by
which the study’s validity is judged. It should include the following parts and should be
presented WITH sub-headings:
Research Design
Research Environment
Unit of Analysis, Respondents and Sampling Procedure
Data Gathering Instruments and Procedure
Validity and Reliability of the Instrument
Scoring Guidelines
Mode of Analysis, Statistical Instruments/Procedure
Ethical Considerations
RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS
(Presentation and Interpretation of Data and brief Summary of Findings)
This section objectively presents the key results with corresponding discussion,
analysis, or interpretation in an orderly and logical sequence using text and illustrative
materials (Tables and Figures). The results section always begins with text, reporting
the key results and referring to figures and tables as one proceeds. Subheadings should
be italicized with only the first word, or proper nouns should be capitalized.
Captions for Tables and Figures should be in bold text, with only the first word or
proper nouns capitalized. They should be numbered. Table captions should be above
the table body, while figure captions should be beneath the image or picture and end
with a period.
