System issues:

1) System is running slow

(Troubleshooting steps)

-> Delete the unwanted files


-> Empty Recycle bin
-> Delete temp files ( C\Windows\Temp) : Run->Win+R-> temp
-> Delete files in %temp% : Run-> %temp%
-> Diskcleanup > C drive properties
-> Task manager - Cntrl+Alt+Del - Right click on Task bar
-> Check the applications taking more memory and CPU usage
-> Uninstall & Reinstall the application
-> Command : gpupdate( group policy update) - Run cmd as administrator
-> Restart the PC

2) BSOD - Blue Screen of Death( 1000+ errors)

Reasons:
- If any faulty softwares are installed on PC/laptop
- If OS is corrupt
- Any hardware issue
- Dust on RAM - Clean it with eraser or soft cloth

Solutions:
- Restart the PC
- Check the error code or stop code on display
- Type error code in Google and troubleshoot the issue

3) Bitlocker issue ( Full drive encyrption)

Reasons:
- Hardware issue
- Any illegal logins to laptop

Solutions:
- With computer name ( LT123456 or PC098765)
- Type user name in Active Directory and check ; check laptop number
- Type laptop number in Active directory
- Bitlocker recovery
- Check recovery password based on recovery key
- 48 digit code should be entered in password field
- Windows starts loading

4) Unable to browse Google/ Intranet sites(only for organisation)


- " This page Can't be displayed"
-Able to intranet but unable to browse Google
-Check the "Proxy"(Mediator between the server and the computer) settings
- Check IT team proxy and match it with client
- Delete cache from browser : Command prompt : ipconfig /flushdns
-Never delete cookies ( username & password details)
- Command : gpupdate
- Restart the PC

5) "Trust Relationship error"


- If user changes password and it is not synced with the domain server "Trust
relationship error" occurs
- Reset LAN/login password from Active directory or password reset tool
- Ask the user to connect the laptop/PC to LAN cable and login with new password
- User will be able to login
- If it is not working, remove PC/laptop from domain network and add it again.
( Control panel> System>Change settings>Change>Add to domain)

6) Unable to access Internet

- Check cable connections


- Check if WiFi/Ethernet is enabled in Network and sharing center > ncpa.cpl
- Check adapters in Device Manager(Run as administrator) if there is any issue
- Update the drivers
- Command : gpupdate
- Restart the PC

NIC - Network Interface Card - it is placed in PCI slot on motherboard


ping - To check if any service is online or offline.
ping 127.0.0.1 ( loopback address)

7)Recover hard drive if OS is corrupt / Computer is infected with virus


- If user is using Onedrive or Dropbox
- Backup & Recovery in settings
- Windows Server backup
- Select the location or Onedrive account and backup the data
- If system is not responding due to virus remove harddrive and connect to
different PC
with updated antivirus and take backup of data

Pendrive(ISO file) or PXE- installation of OS

8) Installation of softwares

- Software installation is failing


- Check if there is enough space on the disk
- Clear the space ( Delete temp , %temp% , disk cleanup )
- update in cmd : gpupdate
- Restart PC

SCCM ( Software/System center configuration manager)

- The recommended softwares


- Patches ( Updates like Microsoft , Security )
- Installation of softwares in SCCM

Remote support tools:

- Anydesk , Teamviewer , Beyond trust


- RDP with laptop number / IP address
- Skype for Business or Microsoft teams( Share desktop ;admin rights will not work
in skype
for business)

VPN ( Virtual Private Network)

- Using home WiFi connect to Private network.


- VPN settings in Windows - VPN has to be enabled
- RSA token( Back side - serial number ) , Digital screen on it ; 6 digit numbers
displayed ;
6 digit number will change for every 60secs
-RSA pin will be created by IT team
-RSA pin is 4 to 6 digit code - RSA console - we will generate pin
-www.citrix.com - username ; password ; RSA password ( 12340987654)
Ex: Symantec VIP Access App

Installation of OS:

- We need an ISO image file either in a USB drive or a DVD


- Need enough storage
- RAM ( 8GB)
- Bootable keys ( ESC, F1, F2,F12,DEL)
- Boot settings - Selection the boot location
- Clean Installation
- Partitions (C drive ; D drive etc)
- Windows OS will install

- For partitions go to disk management

- File System :

NTFS ( New Technology File system ) Format


FAT(File Allocation Table) Format : FAT16 & FAT32

.doc ; .pdf ; .mp3 ; .avi ; .jpg

Device Manager:

- Drivers required for hardware

Printers:

- Local Printer - It needs a USB cable to connect to system


- Network Printer- It runs with IP address(static IP). IP address will be on the
display of the printer screen.
Ex: HP Laser Jet Pro MFP 345 NW - MultiFunction Printer
Ex: NLVDH60
- Drivers are required
- Paper Jam s
- Ink is over
-drivers are corrupted
- Check print queue
- services.msc - restart print spoolers
