The Liturgical Year helps Christians celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through various liturgical seasons such as Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. It reflects the paschal mystery of Christ's work of salvation. The Holy Spirit is active throughout salvation history, revealed in the Old Testament through inspiring prophets and kings, and in the New Testament by anointing Jesus and empowering the early Church. The four Gospels provide written accounts of Jesus' life and teaching as inspired by the Holy Spirit.
