Data Entry and Database Reports, By, Angel Naresh 9G

The document discusses data entry and database reports. It defines a database report as a formatted presentation of data from a database that provides structured information for decision-making. It suggests three questions to consider when designing a database report: preferred programming languages, database driver support, and how data will be ingested. The document also lists the process for exporting a report to another file and analyzes the difference between forms and reports.

WHAT IS A DATABASE REPORT?
DESCRIBE WHAT A DATABASE REPORT
IS, AND WHAT IT DOES.
A database report is a formatted presentation of
data from a database that provides structured
information for decision-making. Database reports
are specifically meant to convey information in a
way that is easy to understand by human beings.
See also: data profiling, data segregation, data
mining.
SUGGEST THREE QUESTIONS TO
CONSIDER WHEN DESIGNING A DATABASE
REPORT.

What are your preferred programming languages?

What programming language drivers does the database
support?
Does this database need to connect to any of your business
intelligence tools?
What about other databases? ...
How is data going to be ingested into the database?
LIST THE PROCESS FOR HOW TO
EXPORT A REPORT TO ANOTHER FILE.
1. Choose File > Save As.
2. Choose Browse. ...
3. In the Save As type box, select the file format that you
want to export data to.
4. In the File name box, type a name for the exported file.
5. Choose Save.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
FORMS AND REPORTS?
Typically, forms contain data from only
one record or are at least based on one
record such as data about one student,
one customer, etc. A report, on the other
hand, is only for reading and viewing. So,
it often contains data about multiple
unrelated records in a computer file or
database.
ANALYZE WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FORMS AND
REPORTS WHO ARE THE MAIN READERS OF YOUR REPORT AND HOW
LONG SHOULD THE REPORT BE?
Forms collect specific data, while reports analyze and
summarize information. Reports are read by managers,
employees, stakeholders, and analysts. The ideal report length
depends on the complexity of the subject, audience preferences,
and the report's purpose.
