EXAMINATION GUIDELINES

1. Students must report at the REPORTING TIME mentioned in the


emails forwarded by Programmes Office. After the reporting time no
student will be allowed to enter the examination hall.
2. All students must occupy their respective seats and check the net
connectivity, etc. (if required), before the commencement of exams.
3. Students are not permitted to use pencils for writing answers in
examinations. However, a pencil may be used for drawing figures,
sketches, graphs, (or as per specific instruction from the Instructor), etc.
4. Students are not permitted to carry laptops, mobile phones, smart
watches, bags, folders, books, textbooks, notes, written slips, and other
items/materials/electronic gadgets, etc. except those explicitly
permitted/ specified by the Instructor in the Question Paper. If any
unauthorized material is found in the custody of the student, on the chair
flap/lower rack of the student’s chair, or anywhere in or around the seat,
the same will be considered as an attempt to use unfair means. No
content should be written anywhere on the body parts, cloths, sandals
etc. No answer book(s) or question paper(s) will be issued to a student
as long as she/he is in possession of any unauthorized items/materials.
5. Any kind of peer-to-peer exchange/communication/discussion –
physical, virtual/online mode, etc. is banned during the examination. Any
involvement of this kind will be treated as adopting unfair means and
appropriate action will be initiated.
6. Use of any unfair means in examinations will be treated as a serious
disciplinary offence, and the student will be debarred from writing the
examination. It can also lead to other disciplinary action (s) including
expulsion from the programme.
7. Students should respectfully interact with Invigilators and should
strictly abide by the instructions given by Invigilators and respond
properly to their queries.
8. Academic dishonesty in any form will lead to severe penalties. All
instances of academic dishonesty/ malpractice of a lesser or a stronger
magnitude will result in an overall course grade of ‘F’ as the minimum
punishment. The punishment may also include, in addition, suspension
or expulsion from the programme.
9. A student who is found violating or not complying with any of the
instructions mentioned above; resorting to any unfair means; or
obstructing the smooth conduct of the examination(s) in any manner
will be disqualified.
10. Please hand over the answer papers to the Invigilators before you
leave the exam hall. The Office will not accept the answer papers in case
if you handover at a later stage.
11. All Differently Abled Students are allowed to use additional time in
examinations (Please intimate the Exams Office in advance).
12. In the case of Laptop based/Online examinations, if you face any
problem while uploading on LMS, please send your answer file to
"[email protected]" within the prescribed time period and not to any
other email IDs.
13. No eatables/drinks are allowed inside the examination hall
NOTE: In case of any difficulty faced/assistance required during the
exam, the same has to be reported to the Invigilator. If required
the student may contact Programmes Office ([email protected])
after the examination.
EXAMINATION PROTOCOL
I. REPORTING TIME:
a. Examinations : Students must report 05 Minutes prior to the
commencement of Quizzes & Examinations. They will not be
allowed to appear for the examination if they come after the
reporting time.
b. Answer papers : The student should hand over the answer papers
to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall. The office
will not accept the answer papers incase if you hand over at a later
stage.

II. ACADEMIC MALPRACTICE : All instances of malpractice, in


assignments or examinations, of a lesser or stronger magnitude will
result in an overall COURSE GRADE OF F as the minimum
punishment [PGP Academic Handbook Clause 4.4.1].

III. ATTENDANCE : Students should ensure that they have signed the
attendance sheet before leaving the examination hall.

IV. WASHROOM BREAK : Students are not allowed to use the


washroom break during the first 30 minutes & last 30 minutes of the
examinations. A student is allowed to temporarily step out of the
examination hall only once during the course of an examination.

V. EXAM INSTRUCTIONS : Students are required to follow the General


Instructions & carefully read the Exam Specific Instructions before
the commencement of the examinations. Students should respectfully
interact with invigilators and should strictly abide by the instructions
given by invigilators and respond properly to their queries.

VI. MEDICAL ISSUES : Students who are absent during Mid / End Term
Examinations due to immediate death of family members or
emergency medical treatment can apply for re-examination with
supporting documents to the respective Programme Chairs within 7
days (and also intimation to the Exams Wing at the Programmes
Office). Grade drop will be applicable for re-examination (except in
the case of major hospitalization and death of immediate family
members) [PGP Academic Handbook Clause 4.4.2].
