The SSC CHSL 2024 exam is divided into two distinct stages that applicants must pass to secure
different positions in Government Offices. The first stage, SSC CHSL Tier 1, will consist of an
Objective Multiple Choice Question paper. For the second stage, Tier 2, there will be three sections,
each having two modules.

SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Pattern
The SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam is an online computerized test. Participants have 60 minutes to answer
a total of 100 questions in the Tier-I paper, with each question carrying 2 marks, resulting in a full

Fundamental arithmetical operations: Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots,
Averages, Interest (Simple and Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business,
Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time and work.
Mensuration: Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons, Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular
Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular
Right Pyramid with triangular or square Base.
Algebra: Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds (simple
problems) and Graphs of Linear Equations.
Geometry: Familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts: Triangle and its various
kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents,
angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles.
Trigonometry: Trigonometry, Trigonometric ratios, Complementary angles, Height and
distances (simple problems only) Standard Identities like sin2 @ + Cos2 @=1 etc.
Statistical Charts: Use of Tables and Graphs: Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar-diagram,
Pie-chart.
SSC CHSL Syllabus: Tier 2 (Revised)
The SSC has made changes to the SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Pattern and launched a new syllabus,
detailed below:
Tier-II will have three sections, each containing two modules:
Section-1: Module-I deals with Mathematical Abilities and Module-II focuses on Reasoning
and General Intelligence.
Section-2: Module-I involves English Language and Comprehension, while Module-II covers
General Awareness.
Section-3: Module-I is a Computer Knowledge Test and Module-II is a Skill Test/Typing Test.
Tier-2 will take place in two sessions, Session-1 & Session-2, on the same day. Session-I will
include Section-1, Section-2 and Module-1 of Section-3. Session-2 will cover Module-2 of
Section-3.
Except for Module-2 of Section 3, Tier-2 will consist of objective type, multiple-choice
questions. The questions will be set in both English and Hindi, except for the English
Language and Comprehension module (Module-2) in Section 2.. here wul be a penalty of 1 mark for each Incorrect answer In Section-1, Section-2, and
Module-I of Section-3.
