Investment Gcash

Danielle started investing 150 pesos on GInvest's platform in October 2023. She took a risk assessment which recommended conservative investments due to her risk tolerance. However, she disregarded this and diversified her money across three funds - two aggressive (Philippine Stock Index and ATRAM Money Market) and one conservative (ATRAM Total Return Peso Bond). Over the next two months she saw losses and gains across the funds. Ultimately she sold one fund to recoup losses and secured a small 1.59 peso profit overall, learning the importance of following risk assessments and diversifying investments.

3 PORTFOLIO (OCTOBER 19 &20, 2023)

NOVEMBER 20, 2023 DECEMBER 5, 2023 DECEMBER 14, 2023 DECEMBER 17, 2023

AGGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVE
On October 17, 2023, I decided to start investing using GCash's GInvest
platform. Before I could begin, I needed to register and complete a risk assessment.
This helped me understand my risk appetite and determine what types of investments
were suitable for me. With so many options available on GInvest, thanks to its diverse
product range, the assessment ensured I made informed decisions about my
investments. In addition, Before I invest, I understand that diversifying my portfolio is the
best strategy to mitigate potential losses in the future. As I start purchasing the fund, I
notice several key details: the net asset value per unit (NAPVU), the past year's
performance, and the minimum order amount of the said investment. Additionally, the
fund's risk rating is indicated as conservative and aggressive which may align with your
risk appetite if you prefer lower-risk investments or higher risk, thus the attachment of
risk rating will be the basis if it will give you enough return in the future or provide losses
to your investment.

After taking those steps, I decided to diversify my portfolio. With so many

investment options available, I believed that spreading my investments across different
assets would help me recover any potential losses. Consequently, I made purchases in
a variety of investment vehicles. My 150 pesos were divided into 3 portfolios, though I
received a warning that my risk tolerance exceeded the investments because I wish to
buy a fund that is higher than my risk appetite. I disregarded the warning and chose to
accept the risk, fully believing in the principle of higher risk leading to higher returns
since the higher risk you take the higher return you receive. I have already invested in
the ATRAM Total Return Peso Bond Fund which is conservative, ATRAM Money
Market Fund, and the Philippine Stock Index Fund both aggressive through GInvest.
The process was very quick and hassle-free. The most appealing aspect of investing
with GInvest is its affordability and accessibility you can easily monitor each of your
investment. Even with just 50 pesos, you can start investing, making it a viable option
for everyone. On October 19, 2023, my order to buy into the ATRAM Peso Money
Market was completed, and my current market value of the investment is 49.99 pesos.
Additionally, on October 20, 2023, my orders for both the ATRAM Total Return Peso
Bond Fund and the Philippine Stock Index Fund were completed, resulting in current
market values of 50 pesos and 49.94 pesos, respectively. As the days of my investment
passed, I constantly monitored for changes. However, the returns weren't what I
expected. Instead of gaining, I experienced losses. After a month, November 20, 2023
my 150 pesos become 149.35. My observations revealed that two of my portfolios had
dropped to 49.58 and 49.57, but the third portfolio continued to gain, standing at 50.19.
This experience highlighted the privilege of diversifying investments.

On December 5, 2023, I reviewed my investments and noticed that two had

recovered, but one continued to lose value. This caused me to become worried, and I
ultimately decided to sell my ATRAM Total Return Peso investment to recoup my
capital. I currently have two portfolios remaining, which I am holding onto due to their
strong performance. I hope that they will not lose value again, as I am currently gaining
a return, even if it is not substantial. The most important thing for me is that they
continue to provide a return. On December 14, 2023, I reviewed my portfolio's
performance after nearly two months of investing. While I've seen some return, it's
unfortunately fallen short of my expectations. The ATRAM Peso money market fund
provided some gains, but not enough to offset the decline in the Philippine stock index.
The index, which briefly rose above 50 pesos, has since fallen back, further impacting
my overall return. As of December 17, 2023 my investment in Philippine stock index
fund which is an aggressive portfolio I have bounce back from 49.82 last December 14
to 51.21 peso so as of this return the higher risk give higher return unlike to ATRAM
total return peso from 50.36 to 50.38 so with this indication return conservative
investment provide lower return but maintaining its portfolio value. Therefore, my
investments over the past few months didn't bring the returns I expected, but I'm okay
with that. One investments failed due to selling it back, but I see it as a learning
experience in taking calculated risks. Thankfully, by diversifying my portfolio helped me
recover the losses from the first one. By selling one investment to recoup my capital and
avoid further losses, I was able to secure a net profit of 1. 59 pesos across both
remaining investments. This experience reinforces the value of diversification and risk
management in maintaining financial health. This experience taught me a valuable
lesson about the importance of considering both potential risks and the assessor's
warnings to avoid losses in the future. If I had chosen not to take the risk associated
with those two high-risk investments, I believe I wouldn't have faced this outcome.
Other, lower-risk portfolios may have offered lower returns, but I would have been
satisfied with the stability and security they provided, avoiding the significant losses I
encountered.
