II.RATIONALE
As mandated by the Philippine constitution Article II section 1.3, section 17,
Article Section 9, Republic Act 911, Republic Act 9064, and Executive Order No.
433 as bases in the conduct of school sports to enhance the knowledge, skills,
and values of learners. Sports as a component program of the Elementary and
Secondary Basic Curriculum is one of the contributory factors in shaping the
wholesome development of a child. This molds the physical, mental, and
behavioral disciplines of an individual. It also improves one’s social standard,
bringing the individual into clinging or a progressive and decent living.
Sports skills are showcased as manifestations of what they have learned from in
and outdoor instruction in the school through athletic competitions. One means
of building self-confidence in an athlete is by exposing him to various
competitions and tournaments, hence the skills he possessed would in some
ways be enhanced. It was a practice that the Provincial Meet will form part of the
Provincial Founding Anniversary of Cotabato Province, however, due to the
changes in the calendar of school activities, the schedule of which is set on the
month of December. This will be participated now by two (3) athletic delegations
per Congressional District plus one (1) delegation from Private schools which is
COPRISAA with a total of four (4) competing delegations. Selected best athletes
will represent Cotabato Province at the SRAA Meet.
III. OBJECTIVES
a) To select the best athletes that will represent Cotabato Province at SRAA
Meet,
b) To strengthen among athletes the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork,
discipline, excellence, fair play, solidarity, and other values inherent in
sports.
