Topic 1:

Student nurse to professional

In my opinion, the transition from student to nurse is a gradual process.
My responsibilities will be a lot more in comparison to being a student,
and I will prepare myself for that when it comes. As for the transition
shock, it's very important to discuss this topic because I need to prepare
mentally and physically to become a registered nurse and fulfill my
duties. Being lost and anxious is very normal for a new nurse, but I have
to overcome that by gaining more knowledge and skills, as well as asking
my colleagues for help when I need to, and to keep in mind this is only
the beginning, and with time, I will gain more confidence in dealing with
patients. One thing was also mentioned Briefly in the lecture was legal
regulations. I’ll have to learn more about this topic, so I can minimize any
potential legal risks and also know how to handle complex situations.

Navigating exam strategies

This lecture outlined crucial strategies for managing exam anxiety,
including preparation techniques for before, during, and after the test. It
also provided helpful advice for handling uncertain answers, such as
selecting options with exceptions (e.g., often-may), avoiding absolute
words (e.g., never-only), and identifying structurally different sentences.
Additionally, it discussed strategies for multiple-choice questions, such as
having consecutive answers of the same letter that are less likely to
happen, recalling the environment where the materials were learned, and
considering grammatical correctness in answers. Ultimately, preparation
remains the cornerstone of exam success.

Nursing subspecialties
The lecture provided insights into various nursing specialties, shedding
light on less known areas like Occupational nursing and forensic nursing.
It talked about risk management nursing, emphasizing its role in ensuring
patient and staff safety and maintaining a safe environment. One
particularly intriguing specialty discussed was forensic nursing, which
encompasses a wide range of services such as emotional and
psychological support, evidence collection, and evaluations of alleged
perpetrators when required. Researching deeper into forensic nursing
after the lecture revealed its multifaceted nature and its significant
contributions to both the healthcare and legal systems, making it a
compelling field of interest for many nurses.
