Who is the reader? The reader is someone who wants to enjoy reading your
article and wants to learn something from it, so you article has to be
educational and entertained.
A main body: Explain the issues or the interesting things about the topic
that you’ve been asked in the task. Remember to use linkers, sequencing
and not so basic vocabulary
Conclusion: Summarise the article, give a piece of your mind and give the
reader something to consider.
Here’s an example:
You have been asked by the editor of your university magazine to write an
article on the following topic:
Is TV about to disappear?
How many times have you watched TV programs this week? And I’m not
talking about Netflix in here, I’m talking about TV channels. Of course I
watch football games that are not available on any streaming platform
yet. So, who says that TV channels will subsist in the long term future?
Talking about the content, they haven’t had the social impact they used to
have on people. If you want to know about a product, you trust someone
in YouTube talking about it and you don’t all for advertisements made by
a TV host, that is his job to promote that, and not because he has tried it
before. I can’t say the opinion about the programs, but it is true that
teenagers have a lower focus range than any other generation in the past,
scientists say that brands have only 6 second to grab teenagers attention
and if they can’t do that, these will ignore their advertisements.
I am going to take the risk and say that Television’s days will be over in
less than 30 years, if Channels don’t keep up with the new trends, they’
won’t be able to survive.
