The document discusses hemophilia A, a hereditary blood disorder caused by missing clotting protein factor VIII. It causes the blood to not clot normally. Hemophilia A is also known as the "Royal Disease" as it affected many European royal families in the 19th-20th centuries. It is inherited through an X-linked recessive pattern, meaning one copy of the affected gene is enough to cause the condition in males who have one X chromosome, while females need mutations on both X chromosomes due to having two. The disorder prevents normal blood clotting.

The Body Of Written Works Essay
American literature is the body of written works produced in the English language in the
United States. Like other national literatures, American Literature was also shaped by the
history of the country that produced it. The development of science and industry as well
as changes in ways of thinking and feeling, wrought many modifications in people s lives.
This entire factor in the development of the United States molded the Literature of the
country. The Seventeenth Century writings included biographies, treatises, accounts of
voyages and sermons. There were few achievements in drama or fiction. Novelis an
invented prose narrative form with considerable length and a certain complexity that
deals imaginatively with human experience. It usually connects sequence of events
that involved a group of persons in a specific setting. Novel in its broad framework, the
genre of the novel has embraced an extensive range of types and styles like Picaresque,
Epistolary, Gothic, Romantic, Realist, and Historical. The novel is a genre of fiction,
and fiction may be defined as the art or craft of contriving, through the written word,
representations of human life that instruct or divert or both. The term novel is derived
from the Italian word novella that represents a diminutive historical parent form. The
novella was a kind of enlarged anecdote like those to be found in the fourteenth century
Italian classic Boccaccio s Decomeron, each of which exemplifies the etymology
The Death Of The Author By Roland Barthes And Michel
Foucault
Throughout many different mediums such as literature and music there have been many
controversial pieces written in regards to the true meaning and purpose of authorship.
Several French philosophers such as Roland Barthes and Michel Foucault have written
essays on the purpose of authorship. Roland Barthes, writer of The Death of the Author ,
has a strong belief in the removal of the author from a piece. Barthes believed that once a
book has been written there is no more author but instead a scriptor and text which are
both born simultaneously. Meaning that the text is a living tissue for the scriptor(reader)
to interpret for themselves, leaving a text with multiple meanings dependent on a
scriptors interpretation. On the other hand, French philosopher, Michel Foucaultbelieved
that the author is a key aspect to a written work. He believed that without an author a
work would have no true meaning in essence leaving everything up for debate which
ultimately results in confusion. Foucault also believed that removing the author from
a text serves no purpose and as such, should not be done. Similarly, an author is a very
important aspect in music as well because musicians are able to bridge gaps between
them and their listeners through lyricism. Artists are able to do this by incorporating
narratives in their music allowing them to narrate their lives which may include
hardships and difficulties that they have gone through, which allows for connections
to be made between the author and a listener who has gone through the same
experiences. For example, artists such as 21 Savage speak about gang violence and
poverty in their music which allows them to shed light on such issues in order to raise
public awareness. The rap artist 21 Savage, also known as 21, has written many songs
which have very deep lyrical meanings to them. For example 21 Savage wrote the song
Famous in which he describes his life prior to and after his rise to fame. In the song 21
Savage discusses how he used to be less fortunate but is now doing well by stating the
following, Rags to riches, n***a came from the bottom/Hood rats, now a n***a f***in
on models/Ridin in the foreign, remember ridin on MARTA (21 Savage). In the above
lyrics,

I always knew I wanted to study political science, but seeing a divided family because
of it, discouraged me from doing it. During the revolution, two great uncles were Contras
and the other two siblings were Sandinistas. This was an important thing when taking
into consideration my family s history. It took several sunday dinners to try and unite the
siblings once again. When I was six I was already interested in Politics, I was the only
child in the family at the time, so I was more like an adult, I heard the sunday
conversations, I asked questions despite the several attempts to dismiss me for being too
young. One great uncle would take me every month to the National Assembly, and I
would see how they voted on legislations, I loved politics.... Show more content on

you ever wondered what kind of a horse pulls the Budweiser cart? The answer is a
breed called a Clydesdale. This breed is one of the biggest horses that there is. They
are only used to pull carts and they are the best breed you can use to pull a cart. The
Clydesdale breed is usually compared to the Percheron and the Belgian Draft breeds.
Though they are compared the Clydesdale is still by far the best cart pulling horse
(Blocksdorf n.p.). Clydesdale have a specific body type to them that make them ideal
for pulling a cart. These horses usually have short backs and are broad chested. The
necks of this breed should be long and arched, this makes them look elegant... Show more

Belgian horses have small heads and thick, muscular necks. They have short legs
unlike the Clydesdale, but have the leg feathering similar to the Clydesdale. The
Belgians are usually seventeen hands tall, so similar to the Clydesdale. The colors
this breed is generally found in are chestnut and roan (Graphiq n.p.). The Shire horse
breed is also similar to the Clydesdale breed. It is also a type of draft horse breed. One
of the big differences is that the Shire horse breed stands approximately 21.2 hands
tall. This is basically towering over the Clydesdale, which is impressively tall. The
Shire horses have slightly arched necks, but not as arched as the Clydesdale. This neck
makes them less attractive when pulling a cart. The Shires also have large eyes and
they are wide chested. The Shire breed is usually seen in the colors of bay, black,
chestnut, gray, and roan (Graphiq
Hemophili A Type Of A Group Of Hereditary Blood Disorders
Hemophilia is the name of a group of hereditary blood disorders that doesn t allow the
blood to clot normally (Frey 2009). More specifically hemophilia A, also known as
factor VIII, is caused by a missing clotting protein coagulation factor VIII. It is often
times referred to as the Royal Disease because of how it ran rampant through the royal
families of England, Spain , Germany, and other European countries during the 19th
and 20th century. Hemophilia A is inherited in X linked recessive pattern. In males
(who have only one X chromosome), one copy of the affected gene is enough to cause
the condition. In females (who have two X chromosomes), a mutation on both of the
genes would have to be present to cause the disorder. Because it is very unlikely that a
female would have both altered copies on both of the genes females generally don t get
hemophilia. Since fathers can only pass on the Y chromosomes to their sons they can t
pass X linked traits along (Hemophilia 2015). Hemophilia is linked to the mutation of
the F8, on the X chromosome, as seen in Figure 1. Mutations in the F8 gene can cause
faulty versions of the coagulationprotein, therefore this protein cannot participate in the
clotting process (Gersten 2014). Figure 1 The chromosome and gene that is mutated
(Hemophilia)

Since it is so difficult for a female to get an altered gene on both of her X chromosomes
hemophilia is mostly seen in males, and it is also transmitted only by females (Hilgartner
2003). In
Compare And Contrast Driving And Drowsy Driving
If Georgia readers are like most Americans, they ve driven while drowsy at some point
in their lives. Statistics indicate that 60 percent of U.S. drivers are guilty of driving
drowsy at least once, and approximately one third have actually nodded off while
operating a vehicle. While drowsy driving may not seem like a big deal to some
people, the behavior is just as dangerous as driving while drunk. In some cases, it can
even be more dangerous. Research shows that staying awake for 18 straight hours can
make drivers behave as though they have a blood alcohol content level of .05, and
staying awake for 24 straight hours can make drivers behave like they have a blood
alcohol content level of .10. For comparison, the legal blood alcohol limit
