1. WEATHER CONDITIONS
South-West Monsoon-2022: The South-West Monsoon is crucial for the Agriculture sector. In
Telangana State as per local meteorologist’s southwest monsoon is active over Telangana. Good rains
were received all over Telangana State during this week and 24.8 mm rainfall received against the
normal of 27.0 mm with a deviation of -8%. (Up to 28.9.2022)
Overall, the average rainfall received in Telengana State from 1.6.2022 to 28.9.2022 is recorded
is 1075.90 mm as against the Normal of 712.5 mm showing deviation of 51%.
The district wise rainfall for South-West Monsoon from 01.06.2021 to 28.9.2022 is shown in
Annexure-I.
The status and deviation of Rainfall during South-West Monsoon for the period from 01.06.2022 to
28.9.2022 are as follows:

II. WATER LEVELS IN MAJOR RESERVOIRS
All the Major reservoirs are holding 901.99 TMC as on 28.9.2022, at this time last year the
level had stood at 895.39 TMC. The water levels in all major reservoirs as on 28.9.2022 are furnished
here under.

IV. CROP SOWINGS AND OPERATION:
The total area sown in the State is 136.04 lakh acres (110 %) as against the normal area of 123.34 lakh
acres.
V. AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS
Farmers are taking up sowing operations as the monsoon is active all over the Telangana state.
Sowings of rainfed crops like Jowar, Bajra, Maize, Ragi, Pulses, Groundnut, Soybean, Cotton etc., are
completed and paddy transplantations are almost completed. The Department has taken all necessary
steps to make available required quantities of various crop seeds and fertilizers to the farmers during
Vanakalam 2022 season.
