Explore on how the topic of regret share commonality between Old Hands and Hamlet
The short story, Old Hands by Mathew Howards and the play Hamlet by William
Shakespeare, both share commonalities on the topic of regret. The narrator from Old
Hands and King Claudius from Hamlet suffer because of their inability to overcome the
regret they have for their past actions committed against their family members. The
narrator from Old Hands would torment his wife and daughter, that caused the narrator to
lose or distance himself from them, which he regrets doing, as he now lives with the
guilt of his actions and fading memories. King Claudius from Hamlet murdered ... Show

But, O, what form of prayer
Can serve my turn? Forgive me my foul murder ? (3, 3, 38 53)
This quotation reveals that Claudius feels extremely guilty and regretful of his
violent action of the past of murdering his own brother. Claudius also realizes that he
will never be able to atone for his actions because, murder is a mortal sin that is never
forgiven, he still reaps the rewards of the murder: the crown and his queen, and also
because, he will never be able to bring his brother back to life and beg his forgiveness
for the act that he committed, and therefore, cannot repair the harm he had caused to his
own brother. In conclusion, both characters, the narrator and King Claudius are going
through the same phase or situation, as they are regretful of their past actions they have
committed. This shows how Old Hands and Hamlet are closely linked to each other
since, the narrator s and King Claudius situation revolves around the topic of regret. A
person will keep on feeling guilty and regretful for their past actions that they have
committed against their loved ones or family members, which they are unable to atone
for, with every incident still fresh and painful in memory, it will always come back to
haunt their
Descriptive Essay On The Menil Museum
I recently visited the Menil Collection, this is a very small humble museum. The Menil
Collection is a museum that holds multiple artworks. The museum is located in a
neighborhood next to a little area where people can go out and picnic and hang out with
the their families for a while. I fact about the Menil Collectionthat surprised me was how
they consider their grass art. My sister and I accidently stepped on the grass not
knowing it was art and when we were handed a booklet describing a couple of their art
pieces the grass was on their! The museum also has a couple of sculptures and
landmarks located right outside the building. Before stepping in into the museum I
observed that it was very small, and I thought there was not going to be any interesting
art pieces since it was so small. The outside of the building was very simple, it was a
white small building with large windows, nothing that really caught my attention.
Once we were greeted by the employee we collected a couple of brochures for the
background information of the artworks and we headed in. The first room of the
museum really did not have any interesting art pieces, they were basic squares and
circles with primary colors. I really enjoyed how the art pieces were separated
depending on their movement, such as surrealism, abstract, and sculptures. There were
many special exhibitions, the one that stood out the most to me was Hurting the word
Radio . This art piece was created by Edward Ruscha using oil on
Why Is The Somme Important
Furthermore, Not everything in The Somme was good. The soldiers at The Somme
experienced more traumatic events than the soldiers in the battle waterloo. The
technology at The Somme was more advanced therefore, there was bullets flying
everywhere. The soldiers could not see anything they were just running to make it
somewhere. When they would turn around they would see their friends and family
dead or wounded. In the months that the war lasted the British lost 50,000 lives. Many
of the soldiers who went the battle in The Somme only went to make there families
proud and get new girlfriends, of course to show their love for their country. Also, the
soldiers and the family and friends would go war together. Most of the soldiers in The
Somme... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore if something were to happen it would take a lot of time for the leaders to
find out. Furthermore, the soldiers did not feel the sense of trust with their leader
because they were not out in the field fighting with them they were under no risk.
Additionally, the battle was harsh on the families of the soldiers too. The families
would hear news about their country winning but sometimes it was false or the news
were way behind because the communication was horrible. Moreover, since for most of
the families there children went to war they did not know what was going on if their
children were okay or if they were dead. In some cases the family would lose all the
soldiers that went to war. (Keegan, 217 218) The combination of them not being in the
best shape to go to war, the people around them dying next to them, and not having
their leaders by there side fighting with them. On the other hand, in The battle
Waterloo it only lasted a day and a half. Even though a lot of lives were lost it did not
last months. Also, the soldiers in waterloo were in better shaped and prepared for the
battle and the leaders in Waterloo were by the side of the
The Benefits Of Going To A Community College
According to Jenkins and Fink, the writers for the Community College Research
Center, an average of 38% of community colleges students transfer to a 4 year college
and 42% of the students complete a bachelor s degree within the next 6 years. Going to
a community college is very beneficial and affordable to children with high or low
income. While I am taking Economics my teacher broke down the concepts and benefits
of going to a community collegeversus a university. For example, going to Moraine
Valley Community Collegeis about $3,570 a year for their tuition, while the University
of Illinois is around $15,686 in tution. If you go to Moraine Valley Community
College for 2 years you will only be paying about $7,140 versus going to the University
of Illinois for 2 years and paying $31,372 Your saving $24,232 dollars if you go to a 2
year college versus going the whole 4 years. If people are struggling financially this
can be a financial advantage. Some junior colleges cost less than two thousand dollars
each semester for students who attend full time and it gives students some time to
prepare for a 4 year university if they plan on taking their education further. Going to a
community college helps students to set goals and aspects for their future career they
want to pursue to transfer to a university. So why doesn t Joliet West counselors promote
the idea of going to a community college?

Students who may not know much about going to a community college may think

Myosin And Muscle Contraction Research Paper
These muscles requires actin filaments and myosin filaments interacting with each other
in order for movement. [1] The myosin are aligned between the actin and muscle
contraction is brought through the sliding of the two filaments. The myosin head can
tightly bind to the place on the actin molecule but generally there are other proteins
which prevent the binding called tropomyosin (form a filament which semi curve around
the myosinwhere the actinwould possibly bind) and troponin (variety of different
proteins).[2] Naturally ATP has bounded to the myosin head and when this happens the
energy is slit into ADP and phosphate, however both would still remain attached to
myosin. The tropomyosin is coving the binding place for myosin to attach to... Show

occurrence and also there is no negative or positive feedback control system. [1]The

the opposite leg, where the leg stiffen to take the extra weight. This happens when the

the flexors muscles. [2] This is also known as the crossed extensor reflex. There are
other movements which adjust the body position to shift the centre of gravity and enable
