Target Behavior Definition
1. Noncompliance: any instance that Brayden and his classmates are told to do something by the
teacher and Brayden does not start on the work when the rest of his classmates start on the
schoolwork.
2. Exposing Sexual Behaviors: Any instance where Brayden will grab his penis, expose his penis, or
talk about his penis in an inappropriate setting such as the school classroom.
3. SIB: Any instance that Brayden chews on any of his fingernails and/or fingers until they bleed.
4. Verbal Aggression: Any instance that Brayden screams, yells, cries (with or without tears),
verbal refuses, uses profanity, and/or degrading others- “You are a low down _____”, “You care
more about the phone than you do me”, “I care more about my uncle Randell than I do you”,
etc. \\
5. Verbal Harassment, Defiance, Verbally Inappropriate, and Disruptive (V) can be
attributed to lack of social skills training and experiences according to teacher/BCBA.
a. Instances that Brayden has said something verbally inappropriate may be due to
not recognizing the social situation and not utilizing the appropriate social skills,
or knowing the skill that is appropriate for the situation.
a. Brayden’s manner of communication is expressed in a tone that can come across as
“passive aggressive”, “contemptful”, “rude”, or “uncaring”. Some students have
demonstrated irritation and aggression toward him because of his verbal deficits. This is
an indication that his behaviors/social skill deficits may impair his ability to make
friends.
b. Brayden does not understand the need to add additional context to a series of
questions, rather repeats “why” or the same question over and over.
c. He also does not recognize appropriate timing and/ or appropriate setting which
inadvertently disrupts others.
2. Violation of Personal Space(PS)- Brayden does not understand the need to provide
others with personal space or asking if they can use or touch things that do not belong
to them. He may be

curious about an object or activity and will inadvertently violate personal space in the
process of his inquisitiveness.
Non-Compliance (NC): Brayden will tell his staff that he does not or will not complete/
work on a specific academic activity. He will try to question the reason for the
activity, negotiate a change in the activity to his preference, or will non aggressively
sit and refuse.
Physical Aggression (PA)- Has kicked other children in retaliation for something
done/said from another student. The physical aggression was not an appropriate
reaction to the other students' behavior.
Theft:(T) Brayden has taken items from Mr. Griego’s room without permission and told
his mom that the teacher gave it to him. Mom has expressed to Mr. Griego that
Brayden has “sticky fingers”
Elopement (E)- During non academic time (Freetime/ down time) Brayden will wander
and will attempt to leave sight of his staff without permission. Brayden has expressed
that he can go places by himself and doesnt need someone going with him. He does
not remember, recall, or actually understand why he has the additional support at his
new school.
