Appendix 1.1
Personality
The personality, value and culture of a person can be judged easily from
his dress. There are different types of personalities.
Highlighting salient features of the personality and camouflaging the
figure flaws to some extent is possible through dress. Improper dressing makes
person a laughing stock and causes inferiority complex.
On the other hand, proper dresses help in building self-confidence which
is essential for the proper development of personality. This affects our behavior
and mannerism and develops harmony and personality.
Clothes are an indication of caste, place, state, and occupation of the person.
Clothes affect the personality of the wearer. People who are introverts prefer
light and sober colors whereas extroverts like bright and gaudy clothes.
Dresses with delicate patterns and sober colors help in enhancing the
natural characteristics of tenderness and feminine. On the other hand, big
patterns and straight lines go well with regular, dominating and grand
personalities. Some uniforms are reserved for certain professions, which help in
enhancing their personality, e.g., wearing white coat by doctors and black by
lawyers. Clothes indicate your social status and interest. Simple and elegant
clothes are hallmark of a serious personality.
Age
Different clothes are required for different age groups. Therefore, care
should be taken in selecting clothes for a particular age group.
(i) Selection of clothes for infants
• An infant sleep for most of the time, so it is important that his clothes are
loose and comfortable.
• These should be made of soft and absorbable cloth (preferably cotton)
as they do not irritate the tender and soft skin of the child. Silken and
synthetic clothes should not be used for infants in any case.
Infant’s clothes are to be washed quite often, hence, the clothes should
be of such material which can be washed and dried easily. The clothes
should be unsearched. The seams should be flat; fasteners should not be
at the back.
Tight elastic should be avoided. Infant’s clothes should have openings on
the front, back or on upper side and it should be head long and closed
neck. Instead of buttons, there should be ties and fasteners at the back of
the dress as these may hurt the infant clothes because inconvenience in
and may get torn by sticking someway
• Very tight clothes are not conducive normal growth.
• If the clothes are shabby, unshaped, not to the liking of their peer group,
they may suffer from inferiority complex. They are reluctant to play and
with their peers.
• Hazy and dull colors should not | selected for children. Rather bright
gaudy colors are good for them.
(iii) Selection of clothes for adolescents
• Adolescents like distinctive and unit colors. Clothes with bright color
reflecting enthusiasm, cheerfulness liveliness should be used for them.
• They like clothes that are in fashion their clothes should be creative, styli
and according to the latest fashion.
• Generally, adolescents do not like influences of their parents and
regarding their clothes.
(iv) Selection of clothes for adults.
• In adulthood, the clothes undergo change. Simple and elegant clothes
desirable for mature and elderly
• Clothes with design and flowering print look childish.
• Clothes should be chosen after analysis of the color of the skin, a| and
body figure.
• In this age, more emphasis should be the profession, occasion, and
price than on the prevalent fashion. In absence of any of this
consideration the dress would look awkward.
(v) Selection of clothes for old.
Some problems are come regarding the clothes of the people.
• In this period, there is loss of flexibility in the body which causes
inconvenience in movements, hence, clothes should be| loose and
comfortable.
• Eyesight also gets weak and hence big buttons with button holes should
be used in place of hooks. Use of zip is also convenient.
• Their dresses should be in consonance with their age.
• Clothes should be light and easy to wear. They should have simple
designs and easy to wear from either side with durable stitching.
• Clothes should be stain-resistant, easily washable and wrinkle resistance
as the elders may not have enough energy to launder their clothes
frequently. Thus, we find that age is an important factor in selection of
clothes.
Climate
The main purpose of clothes is to cover the body. Clothes protect us from
heat and cold and help us in maintaining body temperature in adverse
circumstances. Hence, knowledge of selecting the clothes according to the
climate is essential.
Warm, thick and bright colored clothes should be used in winter whereas
cool, soft and light-colored clothes in summer. These should have sweat
absorbing quality. In rainy season, we need such clothes as may dry up soon
and are wrinkle free e.g., nylon.
Clothes compatible to a person should be soothed both to the user and
onlooker, e.g., a person wearing silken clothes in sultry summer is irritable to the
wearer as well as the onlooker.
Occupation
Clothing is associated with profession also. Working people should wear
formal clothes. They should be simple, neat and clean. Vulgar and improper
clothes should be avoided. Clothes should give a feeling of being smart, active
and sober. We all would like to wear such clothes that may wearer not cause
any hindrance in our working.
If you are a physical instructor, your clothes should be loose and
comfortable so that you may give a good demonstration. Farmers need strong
and durable clothes and should also protect them from sunshine.
Businessmen should wear sober and modest clothes. Persons who are
going to travelling should wear such clothes which are easy to wash and do not
require frequent ironing, e.g., terry cot, decagon etc.
Industrial workers wear special type of uniform. People serving in army,
police and railways have their own distinctive uniform. Simple and sober clothes
are required in classrooms. Sportsmen need durable and porous clothes for
sweat absorption. Doctors and nurses wear white clothes. All these variations are
on account of different professions.
Figure
Every person has unique figure. Some are tall or short, fat or lean and thin.
Some are of normal height and width. A man should wear clothes in
accordance to his figure irrespective of latest trends in fashion and design.
Whatever is the body shape, clothes can make it look different. By
judicious use of colors and clothes the figure flaws can be camouflaged or
salient features highlighted. For example, persons who intend to look taller and
thinner should wear clothes that are plain and of single color and with vertical
lines and designs. Similarly, those who wish to look shorter and fatter should wear
horizontal designs and with two or more colors in their dress, e.g., if the salwar is
of light color, the shirt should be of dark color with horizontal lines.
They may also use frills, piping in their dress to look fat. For a tall and fat
lady, clothes with diagonal lines are more suitable. They should also not wear
very light or loose clothes. Short coat and jacket too, give a feeling of shortness.
All types of clothes do not suit to all body figures. For a fat person light and soft
clothes, and heavy and fluffy clothes-like organdy and taffeta, should be used
for a lean and thin person.
Occasion
Clothes should be suitable to the occasion. If they are not in accordance
to the occasion and place, they would look odd. Therefore, in the selection of
clothes, care should be taken about the occasion on which they are to be
worn.
Expensive clothes like brocade, banarasi and silken with bright and gaudy
colors may be used on special occasions like parties, marriages and
celebrations. Simple clothes of black, white or dull colors are generally used in
mourning or death. Clothes used in travelling or playing should be flexible,
comfortable, and easily washable and sweat absorbing. While doing household
jobs one should normally wear old clothes, as good ones may get spoiled.
Fashion
Sometimes it is commented that so and so person is very fashionable.
What does it mean? In simple words it means that a person follows latest trend in
fashion in color, shapes and design keeps on changing from time to time. For
moving along with the latest trends in fashion, one must have the freedom,
money, time and knowledge about latest innovations in clothing.
For ex sometimes back, loose gent’s trousers art fashion and few years’
later, tight ones come into fashion. Often people are j influenced by fashion
which is natural. Person wants to wear clothes of hence, its consideration is: in
the selection of clothes if a person his clothes very frequently, wastage of
money. It is true, especially case of youths.
In the selection of clothes, it must be kept in mind that the not suit
everybody’s figure. Personal low of an individual are of prime the selection of
clothes, but fashion should be done within limits of decency and cult
Therefore, it is obvious that selected clothes depend on a number of
factors, choice of clothes enhances personality the blind imitation makes
people look and turn into a laughing stock.

Appendix 2.1
Factors affecting Color Trends for your clothes
Color is everywhere, affecting our moods, our fashion sensibilities, even
our appetites. It is the first thing you notice when you look at something. So when
it comes to selecting clothes, color plays a very big role.
The same garment that looks beautiful on one person can look hideous on
another. One of the major factors that result in this difference in visual
perception is the color of the garment. Hence designers are particularly
concerned about the best use of colors in their creations. Color is at the center
stage of fashion.
When there is question of "Which color is best for me?" no single answer
can say it all. There are a million colors and a million interpretations to those
colors. How can you restrict yourself to a specific paradigm, when there are so
many different factors affecting your choice of colors?
For individuals, a knowledge of different colors and identifying the perfect
colors for them can have a lasting effect on their whole outlook and image in
the outside world - whatever be the trend /fashion of the moment. Check out
this post on the mixing and matching of colors to find the right color
combination for your clothes as per the color wheel.
You may get lost in the world of color names - understandably so,
because there are so many hues and shades. If you want to know the correct
names of the different colors around you, this post "Color names in Fashion" with
names of hundreds of colors may help you.
Hair color
If you have blonde hair / golden hair, usually this is accompanied with fair
skin and blue eyes.
Hair with blue undertones (such as platinum or ash blond, auburn red, and snow-
white and jet black). These combinations are good with cool colors like pastel
pinks, beige, pale green, light blues, and purples.
Hair with golden undertones (such as honey or strawberry blond, rust red,
brown or brownish black, or creamy white) - Warm colors or colors with orange
or yellow undertones work well.
If you have black or brown hair go for rich and vivid colors.
Grey hair looks good with cool colors like Navy blue and midnight blue.
Skin color
If you have fair skin you will look better in cool colors like blue and green;
soft and pastel colors like soft yellow, peach, lavender, mint green,
alabaster; neutral colors like ivory; jewel tones like coral, are all good with fair
skin.
If you have darker skin with a warm tinge you will look better in warm
colors like red, orange and yellow; earth tones like green, orange, olive, blue,
navy, emerald, burgundy, ruby; plum white and pink can also suit dark skinned.
Warm colors have a golden / orange or yellow undertone; cool colors a
blue undertone.
Light skinned people look better in silver colors and dark-skinned in gold colors;
though there are exceptions to this rule.
Eye color
Blue, gray or green eyes - if you have any of these
eye colors you will gravitate towards cool colors. If you
have brown, hazel or amber eyes you would prefer to
have warm colors in your wardrobe.
If you have beautiful eyes and you want to
emphasize this, use a darker shade of the eye color near
your face (as a shawl, wrap, or hat)
Body size
If you are on the petite side and you want to look
slightly larger in stature, you would prefer to wear white or
light-colored clothes than a slimming black or navy blue.
Warm colors make the object look bigger than cool
colors. Bright shades of a color make you look bigger than
dark deep shades of the same color. Dark and dull colors do
recede the figure. So, a bright red will make you look far
bigger than you will look in a darker shade of red.
Neutral colors like white, black, off-white is good at
neutralizing lines and projections. So, if you have anything to
hide like an unsightly bulge at the love handles, soft lines in
neutrals should be chosen than a bright red.
Wearing black is slimming. But if you are overweight
covering your body in folds of black from top to toe may
make you look bigger than otherwise. Check out this post
on 30+ dressing tips to look slim for more details.
Occasion
If you are going to an evening party with plenty of artificial lighting you
can wear very bright colors and still not look garish. Artificial lighting at these
venues can soften bright colors and make the color look glamorous.
For a business function, brown is a dependable color whereas pink may
make you seem somewhat frivolous in that setting.
For afternoon functions in the broad daylight, you can opt for soft colors
which are not too bright.
So, choosing colors according to the occasion is important as well. Not
adhering to this can land you in trouble at times. In the West, black color is worn
at funerals but in the East, white is the predominant color at funerals.
For a creative pitch a navy blue color suit may project the label of being
not creative enough ( it is the stable color) whereas red can give the vibe of an
extremely creative energy
Warm colors are red, orange, yellow and all the colors in between. Red is the
warmest color. These are high energy colors. It is said that these colors stimulate
a special chemical called dopamine in our body which makes us feel good.
Warm colors are considered advancing, stimulating, and exciting. They make
objects or shapes appear larger or more important.
Cool colors are blue and green violet and colors in between. Blue is the
coolest color. They are considered receding, quieting, and reserved. These
colors make shapes and areas appear smaller and less important.
Neutral colors are black, white, grey and the colors in between. Most of use
prefer neutral colors for their elegance but sometimes they can be energy
draining. The negative energy given by these colors have to be relieved with
some splashes of color. Learn more about neutral colors here
After evaluating all these factors, if you still have a color that you like but
may not be the right one, you can get away with wearing it away from your
face like as a skirt or pants.
White
White is a classic color, favorite of one and all, the
symbol of purity and innocence. Designers use white a lot
because most everyone prefers this color one way or the
other. Lacy sheer white to brocade white with double tones,
white clothes and accessories are always in demand.
The hassle of maintaining the purity of white color wear
after wear do not deter white lovers from investing in more
and more clothes of this color. Check out this post on washing and caring for
white clothes, so that the white color is maintained.
Because of its quality of making an object look bigger, white is not the easiest
color to work with but if played right this color can be an asset in your wardrobe.
Another disadvantage of white is that it can make you look washed out,
without a relief. Pairing it right with other colors can make this color an asset to
your wardrobe
Pink
Pink is a feminine color. It can give out a feeling of
cheerfulness, liveliness. One disadvantage of wearing pink is
that you can be judged frivolous or at least not serious
enough in a formal environment. Fuscia pink is a vibrant
color giving out a lot of energy vibes.
Yellow
Yellow is a cheerful, lively and fun
color, the color of sunshine. It is a good color to treat
yourself out of depressing moods as it denotes optimism. The
mood elevating property of yellow is to be used cautiously
though as sometimes bright yellow color can be quite
jarring and over stimulating.
Yellow is thought of as a suitable color for kids. A soft
yellow can be good for kids, cheering them up and
stimulating their minds. It can also be good for raising self esteem in them.
Orange
This is another energizing color. It is a color that is very
inviting and exudes warmth. It is also
associated with joy and festivities.
Black
Black is a slimming color which wins it
many brownie points. It is a slightly
depressing color when worn on its own, and can
sometimes overwhelm the wearer but the elegant and
powerful look of black makes it still an all-time favorite
color, when done right. If you have sallow skin, avoid black
color, because it may make you look wan.
Silver
This is a color which gives a feel of the futuristic. Using this color singly for
clothes can make you look like someone from the space but a hint of silver can
be a good thing.
Green
A calming color, green is used for its
natural feel. Think leaves, plants, shrubs,
vines etc. Everything related to the natural
landscape can have that effect on you.
The bright green can give out
amazing energy and make you feel
young. Lime green is such a vibrant
energetic color whereas a pale green is a
very soothing color. Pantone.com says green is a color of
harmony and balance and of wellbeing. Do you want more recommendation.?
Red
Red is the color of power. If you want to stand out in
the crowd this is the color for you. Ever wondered why the
speaker in the podium wearing red is quite an attention
grabber. People look at you and take note of what you say,
be it in a more negative or positive way - they do.
If you are the introvert you would skip red because it
will bring all attention to you. Red can also be
overstimulating, so if you want peace and quiet skip red.
Check out the post on more tips on getting the Red
color look right.
Violet
Violet is a calming color.
Blue
Blue is a universally liked color - a color
that denotes honesty, calmness,
trustworthiness. There are many shades
of blue and they mean many different
things. A light blue like sky blue is very
calming and a cobalt blue very
energizing and a dark midnight blue may look dull and
dark in the wrong surroundings.
Navy blue is a formal color. This traditional color can make
you look authoritative and trustworthy. It can also make
you give an intellectual aura.
The problem with dark blue is that it can be a little boring and make you look
less creative than maybe you are inside; but it is a safe color and a favorite of
many.
Brown
This is a color which proclaims dependability. A chocolate brown
suit can make you seem trustworthy and likable. People warm up
to you more when you wear brown.

Appendix 3.1
Figure Problems
Long Neck
A long neck is actually very beautiful and elegant. Still not happy
with your ballerina neck? Make sure that your neckline doesn't show too
much bare skin, this only makes your neck even look longer. Long
necklaces and short haircuts aren't very charming on you either. What
will look very nice on you are high collars, short nec klaces, scarfs and
long and full haircuts.
Short Neck
Do you think your neck is too short? Try avoiding high collars, lots of
jewelry, scarfs and long haircuts. Showing more skin, a deep V-neckline or scoop
neckline and a short haircut optically give you a longer neck. That’s how easy it
can be!
Broad shoulders
Choose bat or raglan sleeves, bare shoulders and deep as well as narrow
V-necks. The last two break the broad shoulder line. Stay away from shoulder
pads, epaulettes, puffed sleeves and scoop or shallow necklines.
Fuller arms
Always make sure that your sleeves are not too tight. Choose rather for a
little too loose than a little too tight. Puffed sleeves, cap sleeves, and sleeveless
tops are not your friend. Instead of those choose tops with loose, wide sleeves
and half or long sleeves.
Small breasts
Although small breasts look very beautiful in a lot of garments, there are
certain ways to give them a little bit more volume. Additional details at the
height of your bust are stunning, try ruffles, pockets, prints or sequins for example.
Try to avoid necklines that are too open or tops and shirts that are too tight. Yet
a deep neckline can be very sexy!
Big breasts
Give the top some 'air': open necklines, a deep V-neck and loosely
draped tops are perfect for your figure. Wrap tops and cardigans divide your
bust and this is what makes them flattering on you. High necklines, details at the
height of your breasts and skirts with a high waist are the less smart choice.
Belly
Choose tops that have an accent on the side, for example, a striking
closure. Pants and skirts with light pleats and tops that loosely fall along your
curves will hide your love handles. Fabrics that cling to your body, tight tops and
wide belts are less attractive.
Wide hips
Balance out your wide hips by putting the emphasis on your shoulders with
epaulettes or shoulder pads. All accents that you can put on your shoulders are
great. Avoid pockets at hip height, hipsters, tight pants, skirts and pants with
outstanding pleats and clingy fabrics. Pants and skirts with a high waist line or
flat pleats are perfect for your body type.
Flat buttocks
Add more volume by choosing peplum tops, catchy pockets, details at
the back and heavy fabrics. Clingy fabrics, fitted skirts and pants optically make
your buttocks flatter.
Full buttocks
Short jackets and shorts are not the best choice for you. Pants and skirts
that loosely fall over your behind and a blazer that reaches to your hips will look
very nice.
Full thighs
Full thighs can be difficult when buying a pair of pants. Choose pants that
have stretch in them, you'll notice that they'll fit much more comfortably. Bring
your fuller half in balance by putting the emphasis on your shoulders with
epaulettes and shoulder pads. When choosing jackets and tops choose items
that stop just above or just under the widest point of your body. Thus, unwanted
accents aren't placed on your downsides. Choose for lighter colors at the top
and darker colors at the bottom.
Short legs
Heels will give your body more length and will make sure you walk upright.
Make sure your pants always reach a little over your shoes. Pants that are too
short make your legs optically shorter. Turned over legs, boyfriend jeans and
hipsters a less flattering. Your legs will look longer if you keep the bottom all in
one color, so pants or skirt and shoes in the same color. Easy to apply, great
effect!
Long legs
Choose long cardigans, tunics, pants and skirts with a low waistline. Pumps
with fine heels look beautiful with long and slim legs. A pair of pants or a skirt and
shoes in the same color will give you even more length optically, so make sure
there is contrast in colors at the bottom.

How to choose good clothes
Going clothes shopping can be difficult and confusing. Sometimes you head
to a department store with an idea in mind, but once you get there you have
no idea where to start. There are so many different styles, cuts, sizes, colors and
brands that you may feel overwhelmed. Having an idea of what looks good on
you will make choosing good clothes much easier.
a. Decide which features you would like to emphasize. You can use
outfits to make aspects of your appearance look bigger, smaller,
more obvious, or less noticeable.
• Patterns – Clothes with vertical lines will usually make the part
of the body they're worn on look thinner. Meanwhile,
horizontal stripes will often make that space look wider. Bright,
attention grabbing patterns will draw the eye to where
they're worn, so if you'd like to emphasize your bust, a
patterned shirt is a good strategy. The converse is also true;
dark, solid pieces can de-emphasize certain areas of your
body, especially when paired with bright patterns.
• Waist styles – Low-waisted paints can make your body look
curvier with a more well-defined waist. Empire waists can help
to emphasize your bust.
• Structured tailoring – Clothing with structured tailoring can be
used to emphasize and give shape to any part of your body.
Boxy outerwear can make your upper body look bulkier, while
shoulder pads can specifically make your shoulders appear
wider. Pleated trousers can also make legs look thicker.
• Types of hemlines – A-line skirts are great for adding curves
and making your bottom half look wider. Straight skirts are
also good for doing the latter. Tapered skirts have the
opposite effect; wear these when trying to de-emphasize
your lower body.
• Fit – In general, baggy clothing will hide definition, while
tighter fits will accentuate it.
b. Know your measurements. Whether you're buying clothing off-the-
rack or having it tailored, it's best to keep your exact proportions in
mind. Use a tape measure and write down the exact numbers. Here
are the measurements you should take:
• Circumference of your head for hat sizing.
• Upper arm for sleeves.
• Neck, which is more important in men's clothing.
• Widest or fullest part of your chest or bust.
• Natural waistline.
• Hips for women's clothing.
• Inseam, which is the distance from your groin to the bottom
of your ankle.
c. Make sure your clothing fits. The right fit is the most important part of
choosing good clothes. In general, a garment that fits well but is in
an unflattering style will look better than a piece with a poor fit in a
style meant to flatter your body shape.
• Clothing that fits should be comfortable and not hinder your
movements while not looking too baggy or sloppy.
• If you're planning on losing weight, don't buy clothes that you
assume you'll fit into in a few months. Instead, hold off major
purchases until after you make any major changes.
• Be sure to always hem your pants, especially if you're on the
short side. A too-low hem will make you look much shorter.
d. Buy clothing that looks great on you now. If a garment doesn't quite
fit now but you think it'll look great once you get in shape for the
summer? It's not a good idea to buy it. Shop for your current figure,
not the one you think you should have. You don't want to waste
money on clothes you might never wear.
• If a jacket or blazer won't button all the way, it doesn't fit. Try one size up
or pick a different one altogether.
• If you're swamped in a piece of clothing, it doesn't fit. If it hangs off of you,
you should pick a different size.
e. Check how clothing looks from behind. This step is crucial in finding
flattering clothes that a lot of people skip. A dress or a suit
can look like a perfect fit from the front but terrible from behind.
• If you have a phone with a front-facing camera, take it with you to the
dressing room to check how the back of each garment looks on you. See
if it looks baggy or too tight. Make sure that it is flattering on you, meaning
it's not hugging the wrong curves and that it isn't showing anything it
shouldn't.
• After you check how your potential new garment looks on you from the
front, turn around so that your back faces the fitting room mirror. Switch
your phone to its front-facing camera mode and hold it in front of you,
higher than your shoulder and tilted down slightly. You should be able to
see your back's reflection in your phone's screen.
• If your phone doesn't have a front-facing camera, bring a small hand or
compact mirror when you go shopping instead.
f. Don't always follow fashion trends. You may want to keep up with
new styles, but if a certain popular look is unflattering on you, don't
wear it. Develop your own style and only incorporate trends that fit
it well.
• For example, if you're a skinny guy and ultra-baggy suits are in, don't
waste money on this trend. You aren't likely to pull it off as well as other
body types.
• On the other hand, if you're pear-shaped and bulky scarves are trendy,
take advantage of the chance to look extra chic.
2. Picking out the Right Garments
a. Find colors that work for you. These can be colors that flatter your
skin tone, look great together, or are simply your favorites.
• Choose clothes that match your skin's undertones. People with warm
undertones tend to look better with warm colors, while cool colors pair
best with cool-toned skin.
• Make outfits that incorporate complementary colors. These are colors that
are opposite each other on the color wheel: purple with yellow, blue with
orange, and red with green.
• Try to build a wardrobe that includes staples of only one or two neutral
colors. Neutrals will make up the foundation of most outfits but don't often
look good together. For clothes, these neutrals are considered to be light
and dark gray, light and dark brown, navy, and black.
• Remember that you should wear what makes you happiest. If you have a
favorite color that doesn't match your skin tone, then it still "works" for you.
b. Stick with a brand that you like. If you find an item that looks
especially great on you right off-the-rack, check out other clothes
by the same brand. You're more likely to find something else that
looks great on you. While sizes and cuts are often inconsistent
between brands, many brands keep their particular sizing the same
over time.
• At the same time, if you find a brand's quality going downhill or if it
changes its sizing, start looking elsewhere.
• Keep in mind that American brands are typically boxier and baggier
compared to European ones.
c. Buy multiple versions of clothing that you like. It's not uncommon for
people to buy a few different versions of a particularly great piece.
This will let you spice up your wardrobe while sticking with what you
know works.
• For workhorses like skirts and pants, consider buying even a couple
identical pieces.
• This is an especially good idea if you have a lot of difficulty finding
comfortable clothing that fits.
b. Pick one or two neutral colors for your workhorse pieces. When it
comes to fashion, the basic neutral colors are black, navy blue,
browns, grays, and tans. Because neutrals don't tend to go well
together in the same outfit, picking and sticking to one or two will
help you create more outfits with less pieces.
• Buy versatile items like skirts, pants, belts, and coats in your chosen
neutral(s).
• White is also technically a neutral color, but it can be paired with other
neutrals.
d. Get rid of anything you don't wear. The first step of building a
wardrobe isn't buying anything; it's streamlining what you already
have. Go through your closet and look for pieces you never wear.
Eliminating these will make choosing good clothes much easier.
• You can sell your old clothes online, if you're short on cash.
• Another option is to give them to charity. You'll even get a credit on your
taxes for the donation, if you get a receipt. Some charities will pick up
donations, so you don't have to go anywhere.
• Consider posting them on social media. Many times, your friends will want
to claim items you don't want.
