Case Study Report 1

Scenario
The Fried Banana Co. has about 150 employees and operates on a thin budget. They are a nimble company that has low
overhead, but also minimal profits. They survive on volume product movement.

The Carbo Water Group Inc. has about 150 employees and operates with plenty of budget resources as they are heavily
funded through their partners.

Directions
Each class, you will learn the material to complete an additional piece of the assignment. Your assignment should
include the following sections. Write at least 1 paragraph for each section (at least 5 sentences).

1. Disadvantages. Both companies want to take advantage of a Cloud Solution but are happy 'just getting by' using
their existing on-premise technology. Explain what you believe might be the disadvantages of continuing to
remain only on-premise with their existing technology.

2. Solution provider recommendation. Both companies want to take advantage of a Cloud Solution, but are having
trouble deciding if Google, AWS or Microsoft is the best fit for them. Explain which solution provider you would
recommend for each company and why.

3. Key strengths of recommended provider. What are the key strengths of your recommended provider that
would provide benefit to the company(ies)?

4. Adoption model recommendation. Both companies want to take advantage of a Cloud Solution but are having
trouble deciding which adoption plan would best suit their current and future needs. Explain which cloud
adoption model you would recommend for each company and why.

5. Key strengths of adoption model. What are the key strengths of your recommended adoption model that would
provide benefit to each company?

6. Reflections. A reflection statement is your identification of the main themes identified with your classroom
experience and the affect on your thinking and practice. This is your chance to add your thoughts and analysis to
what you have read, heard, and experienced. This statement illustrates your understanding of the material and
how it affects your ideas and possible practice in future. Consider if and how what you have learned changes
your thinking, and how that might affect your future situational practices.
In short, for each of the sections above, explain:
a. What is the purpose of that thought experiment in the context of the course?
b. How does it better/improve your understanding of the course concepts?
