BSP Accomplishment Report

Magpatao Elementary School held a successful school-based Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) encampment from October 13-15, 2023. The encampment allowed students to participate in scouting activities that develop skills like disaster preparedness, community service, team building, and survival skills. Students also joined in a grand campfire. With support from internal and external stakeholders, the encampment achieved its goal of imparting scouting values to students.

I. INTRODUCTION

One of the anticipated activities each school year is the BSP Encampment where
pupils get excited to perform the different scouting events whether it is a school-based
Encampment or a Division BSP Jamboree.
Scouting is a value laden activity which is very important part of student’s life. It
builds a character that is useful to the community and the society. It imparts learning and
teaches skills that are useful in the daily life. The learning that being taught in scouting helps
the individual student to be fruitful and beneficial in nation building.
With the initiative of the Department of Education to commemorate and celebrate the
Legacy of Lord Baden Powell, the Founder, and to rekindle the Scouting spirit and values,
BSP activities are encouraged.
This year, Magpatao Elementary School, was one of the many schools in Lanao del
Norte which participated in the School-Based Joint BSP/GSP Encampment which kicked off
on October 13 and concluded on October 15, 2023.

II. ACCOMPLISHMENTS

a. Scout Activities and Skill Development


1. Registered pupils and teachers in the BSP.
2. Engaged pupils in different scouting activities such as:
- Disaster/Emergency Preparedness
- Community Service
- Team Building
- Back to Basic
- Survival Skills/Life Saving
3. Joined in the Grand Campfire

With the help of the external and internal stakeholders, the School Based BSP/GSP
Encampment was indeed successful.
