Research Paper Review

As we've learned, research papers must adhere to a specific format. We will outline the necessary
criteria for a thorough paper review.

1. Title of the Investigation

We start with examining the title of the research. When choosing a title for a research study, it's
important to consider the following factors:

 Avoiding abbreviations, acronyms, and initials

 Ensuring clear indication of variables
 Using terminology familiar to the field of study
 Crafting a title that is both broad and specific without being overly general or too narrow
 Additionally, including the researcher's name, department/faculty/college, advisor(s)
name, and delivery date under the title is essential.
 The research paper meets all the criteria mentioned. Therefore, this section has been executed
perfectly.
2. Back ground of the study

The background of the study should consist of a coherent theoretical explanation that is
supported by in-text citations and formatted in justified paragraphs. Although the company's
background should also be included, the theoretical section should be given more emphasis.

In reviewing the research paper, we observed that while there were theoretical explanations, they
lacked in-text citations, and the theoretical section was shorter than the company's background
study. Although there were explanations about the company, they were not formatted in justified
paragraphs and were too brief. To enhance the background of the study, it should be expanded to
a minimum of one and a half pages and should comprise a comprehensive theoretical section.
Additionally, proper citation of all sources used in the background of the study is necessary to
ensure accuracy and credibility.
3. Statement of the problem

The problem statement of a research paper should include the relevant theory that relates to the
variables being studied, as well as the company's practices. It should identify any gaps between
the company's practices and the mentioned variables, and should align with the research
questions being presented. The problem statement should be objectivity principle, and focused
primarily on the problems being addressed rather than their underlying causes.

However, the research paper lacks detail and fails to specify any variables in the problem
statement. Additionally, it neglects to provide information about the company's practices in
product differentiation, and there aren’t in-text citations.

4. Research questions

When preparing a research question, it is crucial to keep in mind several factors such as clarity
and focus, avoiding being too broad or narrow, and not making it a dichotomous question that
requires only a two-option answer. Additionally, the question should be relevant.

While analyzing research questions in a research paper, it was found that the first question was
clear and focused, but the second one was a yes or no question, and the third one was irrelevant.

5. Objective of the study

The research paper’s general objective and specific objectives are stated in a good way

6. Significance of the study

7. Delimitation of the study
8. Research methodology
