I. Objectives
At the end of this lesson, the students are expected to:
a. Determine the differences of pie chart, bar graph, line graph, histogram, and
ogive
b. Uses appropriate graphs to represent organized data: pie chart, bar graph,
line graph, histogram, and ogive
c. Presents appropriate graphs or that will illustrate the given data
III. Procedure
Teachers’ Activity Students’ Activity
Preparatory Activity
1. Prayer
May I ask everyone to stand up for Students will lead the prayer
the prayer.
2. Greetings
Good morning, ma’am
Good morning class How

discussion is still on going. Do not
talk to your seatmate, raise your
hand if you want to answer.
Respect each other.
5. Motivation
The name of the activity is FORM
ME, here is the mechanics
By group you are given a scrambled word
Then from it into its correct word, the first
group to tack their correct output will be the
winner. Answers:
6. Review
Now, let’s have a short recap about
our last topic.
So, what was our topic class?
Yes? Jona?
Jona: out topic yesterday was all about Methods
Used in the Collecting Data and these are the
Interview Method, Questionnaire Method,
Observation Method and Experiment Method.
None ma’am
Okey, thank you is there any
clarifications about our last topic?
A. ACTIVITY
MATCH ME: Match Column A to Column B
Answers:
1. Pie graph
2. Bar graph
3. Ogive
4. Line graph
5. histogram
B. ANALYSIS
1. How did you identify the graph class? Answers may vary
Yes, through the pictures given you are able to
identify the correct graphical illustration.
2. Are there any differences between the 5
graphs?
Yes? Mary
Mary: yes ma’am
Okey there is, thank you
C. ABSTRACTION

4. HISTOGRAM
A Histogram is a bar graph that shows the
frequency of data that occur within a certain
interval. In a histogram, the bars are always
vertical, the width of each bar
is based upon the size of the interval it represents, and
there are no gaps between
adjacent bars. Histograms have no gaps because their
bases cover a continuous range of possible values.
Example:
60
40
20

140- 150- 160
145 155
5. OGIVE
The ogive (also called the cumulative frequency
graph or cumulative frequency curve) is a graph
plotted from a cumulative frequency table.
D. APPLICATION
Presents appropriate graphs or chart that will
illustrate the given data.
Group 1 ANSWERS:
Graph the Ages of the students of grade 7
daisy. GROUP 1
Group 2
Graph the Mode of Transportation of the GROUP 2
students of grade 7 daisy.
Group 3
Graph the favorite movie of the students of
grade 7 daisy. GROUP 3
Group 4
Graph the daily income of the canteen.
GROUP 4
IV. Evaluation
1. What is the visual representation of data using
rectangles whose widths represent class boundaries
and whose lengths/heights represent the
frequencies of the intervals? ANSWERS:
A. pie chart c. ogive 1. D
B. line graph d. histogram 2. D
3. C
2. What graph use upper class boundaries of the
cumulative frequencies. A. 4. B
pie chart c. line graph 5. A
B. histogram d. Ogive
7. Generalization
So, who will give now the recap of the things that
we have discussed today?
