Stout Month
February is Stout Month, (well it is in the US) so we hope you have been knocking back
the dark stuff with gusto this last couple of weeks.

Craft brewers have been brewing a lot of stouts recently ranging from 4% session stouts
to full-blown 15% Barrel-Aged Imperial masterpieces.

An Imperial Stout is the perfect way to end a good session on the beer or to sip
contentedly at the end of an evening at home watching the telly.

A winter warmer for sure.

UK In Recession

Headline news this week was that the UK is officially in recession. This news
coincided with the Office for National Statistics reporting that draft lager
prices have risen by an average of 10.8% in the year to January, which was
apparently the biggest January upswing in 5 years.

London Sites To Close

More bad news is that Breal Group who stepped in to "save" Brew By
Numbers and Brick Breweries is closing the remaining London sites for both
businesses, laying off staff, and relocating the brew kits to Black Sheep in
Yorkshire. A sad end indeed.

US Craft Beer Sales Flat For Years

Jeff Alworth at Beervana has been doing some serious number-crunching,

and he has determined that Craft Beer in the USA has now effectively been
"flat" in terms of production output for the past 8 years.

Stepping inside, you are greeted by a tastefully decorated, long narrow bar, adorned
with fixtures and fittings crafted by the same community that built the pub. Sadler's Cat
proudly serves 14 keg beers and 3 cask beers, primarily featuring Cloudwater's exceptional
creations, supplemented by occasional guest brews.

Moreover, beer lovers will appreciate the extensive array of Cloudwater canned beers
neatly displayed in a large, glass-fronted fridge.

Beyond its excellent beers and setting, Sadler's Cat keeps

patrons entertained with a variety of events, including
quizzes, televised sports events, and music nights.

Open seven days a week, Sadler's Cat welcomes locals and

visitors alike to experience its warm hospitality, outstanding
