The Story of Thumbelina
Thumbelina was a princess, born from a bright red tulip. She was such a beautiful charming
girl. She was given the name Thumbelina by the token of being only the size of a grown man’s thumb. At night she slept in a
cradle made from a walnut, beneath a blanket made from a rose petal. In the daytime she floated a leaf on a dish of water,
using it like a boat, surrounded by flowers, butterflies, and birds.
One day, the beautiful Thumbelina was kidnapped by a toad. With the help of some fish and a butterfly, she managed
to escape, but a prank by a beetle left her stranded on a high flower. Then, winter came to the forest and unable to bear the
cold. Thumbelina started. to live with an old field mouse. However, her beauty caught the attention of a rich mole who lived
next door, and she was soon to be forced to wed him
Then, she met an injured swallow, and passionately nursed the bird back to health. In repayment for her kindness,
