PERSONAL GOAL SETTING (PGS) WORKSHEET

Part I. Student Information

Name: Javier, Viel Margaret D. Student No.: 2023154645

Program: ACT Course/Section: VE021 A71________________
Prescribed Period of Program Completion: ___________________ School Year/Term: 2023-2024

Part II. SSI Inventory

S-trengths : What do you consider as your main strengths?

I would consider my organizational skills as my main strength. I am the type of person who wants everything to be
organized well. Whether it is my things, the itinerary, an event, or anything else, it would give me anxiety if I did not get
to plan everything out. I want them to be planned out in every inch so that they turn out great.

S-kills : What unique attributes and abilities do you have?

What I am most proud of about myself is that I gained self-respect. I believe that respect should first start with yourself
so that you can treat other people the way you would want to be treated. In relation to the program I am taking, I grew
up having knowledge about finance because of my mother. It makes me more confident in the field I am taking.

I-nterests : What do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy listening to music and discovering different genres. I make playlists for the people who are closest to me based
on their personalities and what they would like. This is also how I relieve my stress, other than by watching my favorite
shows. There is a feeling of serenity whenever I listen to music; that is why it is my favorite thing to do.

Part III. Reflection

1. Are your knowledge, strengths, skills, and interests aligned with the program you are currently taking? If YES, explain how. If NO, write
what you are planning to do about it?

Yes, my knowledge, strengths, skills, and interests are aligned with the accounting program. I have a keen eye for detail and the ability to
organize and manage data effectively, which are important skills for an accountant. I have a strong interest in business and finance and a
desire to understand the intricacies of financial systems and transactions. This aligns perfectly with the focus of an accounting program,
which involves studying financial principles and learning how to prepare and analyze financial statements. I believe that my knowledge,
strengths, skills, and interests make me well-suited for an accounting program, and I am excited to continue developing these qualities
through further education and practical experience in the field.

2. What are the possible barriers in achieving your personal goals?

Becoming a Certified Public Accountant is a difficult but rewarding accomplishment. However, lots of challenges can stand in the way of
my progress. The hard educational, license requirements and the low CPA Exam passing rate are some of these. Lack of motivation for
yourself, patience, and organizational qualities are examples of external challenges. Lack of concentration and poor time management
make it difficult to balance work, school, and personal life. These are examples of internal challenges. Unexpected events might also
hinder progress, such as health problems, personal or family issues, or life events. Despite these obstacles, they are manageable with
patience, determination, and a solid support system. It takes careful planning, realistic goals, and constant motivation to overcome
these challenges to achieve my goal as a CPA.

3. How do you think will you be able to overcome these barriers?

Even though there might be a few obstacles in my way of becoming a CPA, I am confident that my perseverance, dedication, and
deliberate attitude will help me get beyond them and accomplish my goal. My commitment is to continue to learn to continually adapt
to the shifts in the field of accounting, and to strive toward becoming a highly regarded and successful Certified Public Accountant.

4. What specific MCL core values do you think would help realize your set goals? Explain your answer.

In my aspiration to be a Certified Public Accountant, it requires excellence, teamwork, discipline, and urgency. The pursuit of excellence
entails delivering consistently high-quality work in a variety of duties, including financial reports and audits. This quality would build trust
with my clients, peers, and superiors, which improves the standing of the accounting profession. Teamwork and collaboration are crucial
in this field, allowing for knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and support. Since the government mostly administers the profession,
discipline is necessary to uphold the highest ethical standards and abide by the regulations. To meet deadlines and take charge of urgent
concerns, I must have the ability to respond immediately and effectively. These qualities will help me manage workloads, prioritize tasks,
and meet deadlines, ensuring a successful career in the accounting field. By embodying these qualities, I can become a highly sought-
after CPA who is carrying the pride of MCL.
