CLASSROOM POLICIES
A. Attendance and punctuality: Students are expected to come to class on time (or 5 minutes
earlier). Late students disrupt the class for both teacher and fellow students. No students
will be accepted in class after the 1st 10 minutes.
B. Preparedness and participation: Students are expected to come to class properly
prepared. This includes completing all assignments with effort and thought, and bringing
all necessary work and material to class. They are also expected to participate in all
classroom activities and online discussions.
C. Discipline, decorum, and academic freedom: Students are expected to be considerate of
one another, to allow everyone the chance to speak, and to treat others’ comments and
ideas with respect. Cellular phones are not to be used in class. They should either be
turned off or kept at a very low volume or on vibrate.
D. Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the use of the ideas, or words of someone without
acknowledging their source. It is a form of cheating and is considered a serious
academic offense. Students must make sure to use their own words when writing their
assignments. Work that is plagiarized will automatically lead to a failing grade.
