Jehova Witness Topic Research

The Jehovah's Witnesses religion was founded in 1870 by Charles Russel and grew out of Bible studies he conducted in Pennsylvania. Russel disagreed with aspects of Christianity and created the Bible Student movement which later became known as Jehovah's Witnesses. They believe they are living in the last days and await the establishment of God's kingdom on earth. They follow strict rules around conduct, marriage, and refuse blood transfusions. While they have over 8 million members globally, some criticize their door-to-door evangelism and shunning of former members.
