LIS Col1 V2

The document describes the LIS connection capabilities of the 1-channel analyzer. It presents 3 cases of possible LIS connections: 1) connection to a host system where the patient ID must be entered manually, 2) connection to a host system along with a barcode reader to input the patient ID, and 3) connection to a host system along with a barcode reader and an external printer. It also provides details on setup requirements, data output format, and examples.

Service Manual 1-Channel

Mod. CD12-1-17

LIS connection

Introduction:

The 1-channel Analyzer supports an

unidirectional LIS interface.

In case a LIS communication is needed,

the result data could sent out by the USB
interface to a computer.

An USB driver has to be installed on the

computer. **1)

A special LIS software on the computer is

needed.

**1) depends on Windows Version

The Analyzer will send out the data in

semicolon separated fields in ASCII
format after the measurement result
appeared once a time.

The LIS system has to pick up this data by

**1) Calculation of CRC

The calculation of CRC starts at First character of <STX> until last space-character before CRC.

**2) Fill character „x“

Windows USB buffer has one speciality. When 128 bytes were transmitted windows will not release the
incoming USB buffer and the data string is not shown at computer.
To avoid 128 byte messages the analyzer will add a „x“ as a fill chacarter. 9
